Willow smelt a faint sent of Rose. He wanted to fallow it and run after her and tell her his feelings, but he knew it would cause trouble! Later that day he let the foals run around and adventure off a little ways while keeping an eye on them.

Rose knew that any stallion who came around would take the herd, she was a mare, she needed a mate to keep the herd running together, she had helped her father after he had lost her mother, so he had been okay, but she needed a stallion; two pairs of eyes were needed, for some reason she thought of Willow, then shook her head and watched everyone, there was no time to think about that.

Willow glanced up at the sky. It was clear. The sky was very blue and free. He looked back down and let his blue eyes glance over the grass. He needed excitement, but with his mother gone, he had no more time for himself.

Rose led the herd towards the river, where they could spend the night in safety, she kept her head held high, inside she mourned the loss of her father with a heavy heart.

Willow led his hear to the river, the sunny weather has left there land dried and a wast land. Food was running short, and the humans were becoming closer to their land. He needed to do something, but he had no clue what to do.

Rose knew what she was doing, her father had taught her well as she had grown up to prepare her for this. She and the herd made their way slowly towards the river, the foals ran ahead to play in the shallow rushing waters that were full of fun. She made sure to keep them in sight.

A gust of wind brought Willow the sent of Rose. He knew that smell, and never forgot it. The drouth must be worse than he thought. He slowly led his heard to the slow river. On the other side was the Midnight heard. The foals trotted into the river with happiness, and no worries. Willow drank his fill and watched them. He made quick glances over to Rose, looking at her beauty.

Rose held her head high, standing off to the side of the river, watching everyone and making sure everything was going okay. She looked up stream and saw the other horse herd, she blinked and kept an eye on them, she couldn't scent them so she wasn't sure which herd it was.
