"Not bad, indeed!", agreed Jacklyn, almost forgetting about the fact that she needed medical care. After a moment, her eyes widened, as she finally digested what Blaine had said earlier.

"That beautiful horse is TWENTY NINE years old?"

When Blaine nodded, Jacklyn shook her head.

"I knew that he was old, but he's...TWENTY NINE? WOW! He..." Blushing, she looked down at her legs. "He looks GOOD!" She knew that she probably shouldn't have said that, because Blaine was certain to feel even more sad about her poor horse than she had felt before.

NON-STORY-RELATED: What's really cool is the fact that today, the neighbor's skittish horse (The mare that has one blue eye and one brown eye) let me pet her! Both of the neighbor's current horses are mares, but the all-brown mare is the more friendly one, while the brown-and-white mare is the skittish one, because she was treated badly before she belonged to my neighbor.

"He's losing weight, but we're doing our best to keep him healthy.." Blaine sighed. "I'll be right back.." She said, walking out the back door and onto the patio. "How's he doing mom?" Blaine asked, as she walked over to Biff and her mother. The saddle was off, and Biff was wearing on of Bull's old halters. "Is he going to be okay?" She questioned. Kathy nodded slowly. "Yes, dear, He just needs some time to rest." She said, stroking Biff, who was still still laying on his side.

Blaine stroked Biff's nose, and looked into his beautiful eyes. "He needs to stand up. Help me." Kathy said, standing up. Blaine, on her knees coaxed Biff, "You're going to be alright, boy. It's ok." She petted him, and stood up herself, hoping Biff would do the same. "Mom, He's scared." Blaine stated looking up at her mom, then back to the big horse. Sure enough, Biff struggled to stand back up, but he managed to stand again. "Good. Now get me those leg wraps out of my box." Kathy commanded Blaine. "Hurry, We don't want him laying back down." Blaine hustled over to the box of medicines and different things, and sifted through it looking for the wraps. She found them at last and hurried back over to Kathy who took them and started feeling Biff's legs. She wrapped them around both of the horse's back legs and then stood up and nodded. "Took quite a spill there, didn't ya boy?" Kathy said softly. "Jacklyn did too. Go get her Blaine, I need to take a look at her and she should see Biff, too."

Blaine nodded and hurried toward the house. She slid open the glass door and smiled at Jacklyn. "Come, See Biff. Mom needs to see if you're hurt at all." She went back outside and stood next to her mother who was holding onto the halter.

"She's on her way out." Blaine said.

As the screaming of an alarm clock yanked Ryan out of his dreams, he felt this heavy pressure on his back and legs. "Diesel, Bear, get off me." He said, turning over onto his side. Diesel and Bear, his two huge rotties just licked him, waiting for him to get up out of bed. When five minutes went by, Diesel and Bear jumped off the bed and tried to get their master up. Gripping one end of the blanket, Diesel and Bear got into a strong tug-of-war with Ryan, them winning of course.

"Okay, okay! I'll get up geez." He said, throwing his legs over one end of the bed and sitting up. His shoulder ached some from hard work yesterday but he didn't mind it. Ryan dug into a dresser and pulled out a pair of faded jeans, socks, and a simple t-shirt. Diesel and Bear barked, running circles in front of him. "I'm up now. C'mon lets get outside and get to the horses." He said, exciting the dogs even more. As Ryan and his dogs made their way outside, Ryan noticed some had already gotten a head start. Oh well.

Walking up to the barn, Ryan brushed Titanic off really good and then tacked him up in western tack. Pulling himself onto Titanic, Ryan was helped by Titanic himself. The horse knew he'd been hurt and could feel some of his stress and pain. Animals knew. Ryan kicked the sides of Titanic, only giving him that name because of his massive size compaired to the other barrel racing horses. Now, Titanic wasn't the biggest horse in the world but he was bigger than all his apponents in the barrel racing category.

Diesel and Bear jogged to keep up with Titanic, only to be snorted at by the big gelding. The two rotties bolted, barking and playing as usual. Ryan kicked Titanic's sides once more, "C'mon boy. Let's just ride around a bit before we go train." He said, stroking the beautiful horse's neck. He truely loved Titanic, with all his heart. Titanic was like the son he never had. Noticing Blaine out of the corner of his eye.

Blaine hurried back up to the house and helped Jacklyn out the door and over to Kathy. "Here. Take a look at Biff. Keep him calm and on his feet." Blaine said, making sure Jacklyn knew what to do. "I got him, its fine Jacklyn, Hun. Now, sounds like you took quite a spill.. How much pain are you in right now? Does it hurt when you walk?" Kathy questioned. "I'm so sorry, I should have taken a look at you first." She apologized.

Blaine stood on the other side of Biff, stroking his mane, and trying to keep him calm. Then she saw the other rider, Ryan, on his large horse, Titanic. His two big rottweilers were following him like her dog Murphy did to Charlie and her. Blaine smiled and waved, then looked back at Murphy's kennel. There he lay, just chilling. He usually barked when other dogs where near. She was relived, knowing Biff wouldn't get nervous from all the barking.

Ryan noticed a wave and raised his hand, pulling the reigns back to make Titanic rear up. He liked showing off, especially for Blaine. Diesel and Bear snooped around Murphey's cage like they owned the place, that lab didn't scare them a bit. Bear knew how to open hatches on gates but he would only do that if it was him caged, or if Ryan told him too. Meanwhile, Titanic could pick up on Ryan's suddenly changed attitude and it excited him. Making him whinny and paw the ground.

Titanic was such a funny and excitable horse at times. Just a big baby really. Ryan let Titanic's massive hooves hit the ground as the big gelding dropped again. Tossing his head like he was impatient and ready to get riding again. Titanic loved just calm rides with his owner and more than anything he loved the unbreakable bond he had with Ryan, truely amazing indeed. How a big animal with such a big personality get attached to such a free man with a one track mind was beyond him.

Blaine gave Ryan a look as if to say, "Lots has gone on today." And turned back to look at Murphy to see the big rottweilers sniffing around the kennel. She looked at Ryan nervously and mouthed the words, "Will they bite?" She was nervous. The worst thing that could happen was if Biff or Jacklyn or anyone where to get hurt. Blaine took a deep breath and perked over Biff's back. "You got him mom? I'm going to check on Charlie." Kathy nodded and Blaine hurried over to the trailer where she had tied him up. "Hi boy. Lets go see Titanic and Ryan." She whispered as she untied him and climed back up into the saddle.

Blaine kicked his sides twice and he started to trot away from the trailer still hooked up to the truck. She went through the front yard and approached Ryan and Titanic. "Hey." She said, cheerily.

Ryan nodded, understanding the look on her face. His nod turned into a grin as he shook his head, "No, they don't bite." He said and chuckled. "Not unless I command them to anyway." He mumbled quietly with a smile. When Blaine rode up he smiled even bigger, "Well hello there." He said and grinned, Titanic not buying this 'cute guy' act one bit.

Diesel and Bear sniffed more and more around Murphey and his cage, wagging their little stubby tails. They were just big teddy bears when you broke it down to the basics. Lovable dogs indeed. They had german bloodlines, being imported from Germany to the U.S actually. Ryan had bought them online when they were only 8 weeks old, raising them up to be the most loyal and loving dogs he had.

"I'm acctually surprised that Murph hasn't barked or started jumping around yet." Blaine said with a laugh. "So what have you been up to?" Blaine asked, trying to keep the convorsation going. She ran her fingers through her hair, trying to be cute.

Charlie was getting anxious,he pawed the ground and whinnied. "Shh you're okay, Charlie." She layed her head down on Charlie's neck and whispered. Blaine picked her head up and fixed her hair, again trying to be cute. "Had a little accident this morning. Nothing too serious." She tried to explain.

Ryan grinned, "Haha yeah, usually Diesel and Bear would've been barking at all the people and the dogs but they're surprisingly quiet today." He said, smiling. Shrugging his shoulder, "Nothing really, I was just about to take Titanic on a walk." He said and scratched his chin, peach fuz which he forgot to shave off! Titanic picked up on the other horse's energy and it excited him too. He whinnied, tossing his head over and over again.

"Titanic." He said, putting a hand on the horse's neck. That usually will calm him down almost immediatly. He then repositioned himself on the big horse, "Really? What happened?" He asked, always in concern for other's safety and well being. He sure hoped that little girl Jacklyn didn't get hurt to bad, really he hoped she didn't get hurt at all. Not that he could go back and change the past anyway, even if she did get hurt.

"Welle from what my perspective, I think Biff hit the jump, and just stumbled, trying to avoid the barrel and Jacklyn got thrown off. Jamil was acting up, Morgan saw more of what happened." Blaine tried to sound smart, but wasn't doing a very good job of it. "I think Biff just needs to rest for a day or two.. I mean, Jacklyn should too, and she could ride Lady or Hershey or even one of the big draft horses while Biff's recovering." She added.

Ryan nodded, "That's terrible. She didn't get hurt did she?" He said, more concerned really for Jacklyn. Horses can be replaced, children can't. Is what his father always told him when he knew that Ryan was going to do something stupid to try and save his horse. Titanic tossed his head as Diesel and Bear came trotting over. They were big dogs with big heads and wide chests. They were built for speed and endurance.

Diesel and Bear tried to sniff at Charlie, wanting to know this horse and it's rider. They weren't tall enough to sniff the rider but they did get a lot of information just from sniffing the horse. Diesel and Bear were gentle dogs with a loving and sweet nature, they'd never harm a fly. Unless it threatened Ryan in a way in which he had no control over. Ryan had originally gotten Diesel and Bear because his sister used to live with him and when he went to work, she'd be home alone. They were more of her guard dogs at the time.

"I'm not sure, really if shes hurt too bad. She has a little trouble walking around, but shes tough." Blaine stated. Charlie flicked his tail as the big dogs sniffed him. Blaine reached her hand down to let them sniff her. "Hi boys." She said, giggling slightly. She sat back up in the saddle and turned to look at Ryan. "They're so friendly!" Blaine complimented. "My uncle Nick had a rottweiler once. She wasn't near as friendly as these two." She looked back and forth between Ryan and the dogs.

Charlie was getting annoyed just standing there, under the big old tree. He reached up and grabbed a mouthful of leaves on the lowest branch, which ended up hitting Blaine in the forehead and leaving a tiny little scratch. "Charlie! What was that for?" She nearly yelled. "You big pest!" She ran her finger along the cut and looked at the little amount of blood on her index finger.

Ryan nodded. "That's good." He said, watching as Diesel and Bear sniffed her calmly, he grinned. "Yeah, they are big sweet hearts." He said, nodding. "My whole family has had rottweilers before, but we couldn't keep them because they kept killing the neighbors stray cats." He said, shrugging his shoulders. Titanic whinnied, prancing in one spot.

When Blaine recieved a cut on her forhead, Ryan turned Titanic so he and Blaine were side by side. Pulling out a hankerchief, Ryan dabbed her forehead and then her index finger. "Wow. Your horse is a little troublesome eh?" He joked, not meaning it literally, Titanic could be the same way sometimes.
