Kisasi started to lead Hatima back to camp, walking slowly because Hatima was limping heavily. "I'm sorry you banged your paw, guess that means we won't be doing any swimming for a while, huh?" He whispered in Hatima's ear so Siri couldn't hear.

Kisasi waited till they had all left before getting up off of the ground. "I should have never asked Hatima to be my mate. She would have been better off with Siri. I'm just some nobody lion." Kisasi walked off through the tress, his head down, tail dragging. He curled up under an overhanging rock and lay down. I'll just sleep here for the night, he thought to himself before he drifted off to sleep.

Kisasi was dreaming of stalking a Zebra in the tall grass when suddenly it bolted. Kisasi looked around for the source and heard someone calling his name. Kisasi woke suddenly under the overhanging rock, sitting upright, he strained to hear. He wasn't dreaming, someone was calling his name! He raced towards the sound of the noise. He broke through a pile of bushes into a small clearing. At the same time, Hatima burst through on the other side of the clearing. "Hatima, what's wrong?" Kisasi said noticing the fear on her face. "And why are you running on your paw, you are going to injure it more!"

When Kisasi heard the fear in Hatima's voice, he took off after her. They ran forever it seemed. They finally stopped when they reached a jungle. Both desperately needing water and to rest. "Why...do...they...want...to...kill...me?" Kisasi said, still trying to get his breath back.

"He really wants you to be Siri's mate huh?" Kisasi said, feeling defeated. He got up and padded over to the pond they had found and took a long drink. Stupid, she chose you! don't be ungrateful his conscience said. I'm not being ungrateful, he argued in his head. I'm just saying that she would be safer with Siri than running wild with me.

"Seriously?!" Kisasi yelled, not even trying to make it discrete. "Are you here to kill me too? Well come on, try to kill me!! I welcome a challenge!" Kisasi screamed. He was really fired up now and maybe even a little crazy.
