"Sure." Heather said, slidding on the stool, her long legs dangling down. She hooked her feet to the inside of the stool then looked up at Atticus. Her eyes studyed him, she finally let herself relax. She folded her hands in her lap, her fingers twined together, her posture relaxed. Heather looked Atticus over and smiled a little more.

"You've been a cop for a while?" She asked, it was easy for Heather to make conversation.

He was relieved to see that she was more relaxed, and smiling. That was good right? Better than that glare she had given him at the Starbucks. "Umm, yeah, I was a 'cop' for two years... I've only been a detective for... a year and a half." he replied.

"What's the difference between a cop and a detective?" Heather asked, it was easy for her to keep pace in a conversation. Mostly because half the time she was genuinly curiouse anyways.

"Detectives get to run around looking for clues, while a cop get's to go out and catch the bad guy..." he huffed then chuckled "Some times I get to catch a crook, but not often."

Angus, who liked to but into conversations, came strolling over. "Can I get you folks something to drink?" he asked with a small smirk at Angus, who just rolled his eyes.

Heather nodded, taking in the information and storing it. The bad guys, maybe they weren't all bad. Of course, Heather could sit there and argue with Atticus all night. She really didn't though, she wanted to give him a chance.
"Oh, I see. That's very interesting. Did you ever have to use your gun? I've heard that some cops need therapy after their first kill." Heather said, wonder and curiousity thick in her caramel eyes. She looked up politely at Angus and smiled at him.
"I'll have a shirly temple, no alchohal for me tonight. I need to be able to find my way back to my apartment." She joked. It wasn't like Heather to drink, but when she did she usually got wasted.

"Sure thing, Lassie!..." Angus looked at Atticus who smirked.

"Just a beer, please." Atticus replied, he drank all the time, but never enough to get drunk. Angus nodded and turned to go get their drinks.

Atticus then looked at Heather to answer her: "Umm, no I've never used my gun to kill anyone... We did have a hostage situation and I had to shoot this guy in the shoulder."

Heather nodded. She did like hearing Atticus's voice, though she didn't like what they were talking about very much.

"You said that your father wanted you to be a cop...What did you want to be?" She asked easily.

He looked at her and chuckled "I didn't know what I wanted to be at the time, that's why my dad made me be a cop. He thought I wouldn't have a future otherwise." he replied smoothly.

Angus came back with their drinks, and sat them on the bar before turning and walking to another customer.

Heather nodded again, understanding eyes beating down on Atticus. She could relate to that, she herself didn't know what career she wanted. Once or twice she considdered becoming a vet technition, but then decided that she'd rather not have all pets hate her. Another time she pondered the posibility of becoming an animator, but then realized that she couldn't draw well enough and gave up on that dream, too.

Coming to think of it, Heather never set goals for herself. She swung her hand towards the drink and picked it up. Heather took a long sip of her shrily temple before dissconnecting her mouth from the straw and running her tongue over her lips. She loved anything sweet and sugery. Her caramel eyes darted to Atticus again and she gave him a smile.

"That's cool. I can relate. I have no direction myself at the moment, I'm just kind of...Here..." She said smoothly, her vowels and voice like music.

Atticus took a swig of his beer, before sitting the bottle back on the table. Atticus noticed her smile and was even more relieved, maybe she didn't hate him after all. He decided to try and be more... charming? Well he knew that getting a girl to smile was good, laughing even better, but if you could get them to blush that was a good thing.

"I gotta ask you something, Angel." he cooed flashing his white smile, "...How come a girl as pretty as you, doesn't have a boyfriend? If you don't mind my asking."

Heather felt herself shiver at the word angel, she never did like that nickname. She pondered this question, why didn't she have a boyfriend? Mostly because of her low self-esteem issues, and the fact the most guys got tired of hearing protesting 24/7. But that wasn't any real reason, she just didn't have time for one recently. And she hadn't really met anyone that she liked. Juggling all these thoughts, Heather sipped her drink again.

"No one I've met has really sparked my interest lately." Other than you she was about to ask but cut herself off just in time. "And you? You're pretty handsom. No girlfriend? Why's this?" She asked, a grin itching to her face.

He smirked "Um, I dunno... I've had girlfriends but these girls... I dunno they just end up breaking my heart in the end." he replied, then his blue eyes twinkled and he grinned, "You think I'm handsome?"

Caught off guard by the question, or rather accusation, Heather blushed crimson red. She straightened slightly and raised her chin a bit, trying to hide her blush. But it was there, red and shining like a freshly picked apple.

"Uh...maybe…” It was unlike Heather to say 'uh'. She looked down at her feet sheepishly.

Atticus chuckled "I was kidding... but uh, that's nice to know." he teased, his blue eyes shimmering with mischief. "You're quiet beautiful, yourself..." he complimented, his voice hinted with flirtatiousness.

Heather blushed deeper, if even possible. Her cheeks felt ready to burst into flames and her hands grew sweaty.

“T-Thank you…” She said, tilting her forehead forward and letting her hair fall in her face. She always did this to hide her face.
