A thought struck Kaliona's head as she searched for her best friend. I'll bet she's gone back to Buck. Kaliona thought, recalling how Buck had told her about him and Nala being mates. "Kiara." she said to the younger lioness. "Get the prey back to the Shelter. There's something I need to find out."

Kaliona began walking towards the Shelter looming up in the distance. She knew what she would find and she didn't want to see it, but something told her to talk to Buck.

Kaliona stood on the first rock leading up to the den. She took a deep breath and began to decide what she was going to tell him.

Kaliona stood at the enterance of the den. Even though she knew what she would expect, she didn't want to look at that. She turned and ran.

Kaliona found her feet taking her to a place in the territory which held great memories. She looked at the vast plain and remembered how much this reminded her of the pridelands. She looked at the sky and called softly, "Simba, are you there?"

She looked at him, hardly noticing him. She was feeling her friend Simba's presence close to her. "Do what you have to do." Simba's voice whispered in her ear.

"What was going on between you two?" Kaliona asked, her gaze trained on the stars shining above.
