Taking his attention away from the cub, who had stopped wailing, Boulder looked at her injured leg. "Rai... You're hurt." He breathed, bending down to lick at the wound without thinking. After a moment, he lifted his head and looked at her in embarrassment. His mother had done the same to him when he was burned during training one day, and somehow, she made the wound heal quickly. "We need to get home so Diska can look at it." He murmured, speaking the name of the clan healer.

Andie took a step towards the mountain lion cub and saw that the little scrap of fur was shaking with cold. Taking pity on the young one, she licked his fur to warm him up and eventually he stopped shaking, but the fur along his spine still stood up. He looked up at the dragoness with terrified eyes and Andie gazed at him sympathetically. Grabbing him by the scruff, Andie picked up the cub and turned to Boulder, who was looking awkward at Anarai.

Anarai shuffled her feet self-consciously, feeling every bit as awkward as Boulder. "Um, yeah. So yeah, we should probably head back then, huh?" she said softly, keeping her gaze focused firmly on her feet.

Boulder nodded and turned to see that Andie was holding the cub in her mouth. He opened his jaws to say something but er expression changed to say something along the lines of 'don't-question-me'. Ignoring it, Boulder spoke anyway; "Oh no, Andie. You brought us out here, you got us attacked, and now you are not going to bring a cub home! You're lucky I don't tell anyone about this!" He snarled, taking the cub away from her and placing him down on the brush. The moon overhead was at the tip of the sky - midnight - they would have to be home soon. The cub looked up at Boulder with a pleading look in his eyes, and the older dragon sighed before bending down and picking the cub up by the scruff. The fur was warm but the little cub still shook from the cold.

"I'll bring the cub back, but I won't let anyone know about him until the morning. For now - we need to go back home and get some sleep." Boulder muttered through a mouthful of fur. It wasn't this often that he spoke so much, but it really seemed like a necessity around Andie - and as he had noticed, Anarai, a usually talkative dragoness, wasn't speaking very much at all. Turning away from the two of them, Boulder broke into a run towards the camp, hoping that nobody was still awake to see him and the others slip into their dens without being noticed.

Andie snarled as Boulder took the cub away, but decided not to fight it. They were very close to the watcher's outpost now and if they made loud enough noise, they would be onto them in an instant. Dipping her head mockingly at Boulder, she watched as he paused a moment, looking from Andie to Anarai before turning around and breaking into a fast run towards the camp. Turning to look at Anarai, Andie obtained a sympathetic look in her eyes, for her injured leg. "Can you fly back?" She asked, knowing full fell that dragons need their legs in order to keep a steady balance in the air - but their tail was good for that as well.

Waiting for an answer from her friend, Andie looked up at the moon and noticed wisps of clouds that had started to form over the sky. The scent of rain was very faint, but Andie guessed that the clan would get rainfall tomorrow. It wasn't often it rained in the mountains, but when it did, the clan was glad.

"Yeah, I think so," Anarai replied with a nod. She carefully balanced on her hind legs and used their power alone to thrust herself into the air. Without her front legs as well, the take-off was a bit weak, but she got into the air okay. Drawing up her injured leg close to her torso, she relied on her tail to balance her in the air.

She waited for Andie to fly up to join her before following Boulder, rising up and down as she struggled to remain still in the air.

Andie flapped her wings and pushed off of the ground with powerful hind legs. Soaring up into the air, Andie fell in behind Anarai and smiled at her clanmate, letting her know that if she needed help, Andie would be right behind her. Above, the bright moon turned Andie's skin silver and she watched as the north star twinkled brighter than any other star in the great black sky. Hearing a grunt below, Andie watched as Boulder broke into a run in the direction of the camp. "Let's go." She said, mostly to herself rather than her injured friend. Glancing behind her, Andie took one last look at the watcher's outpost before turning back and flying in the direction of the camp.

Anarai flew quickly and quietly, coasting along through the cool night air. It wasn't long before they reached camp, and Anarai began her descent. Landing was a bit awkward, but she managed to do it without stumbling or wincing. The long gash was still oozing a few drops of crimson blood, and the torn flesh was littered with dirt. That would have to be cleaned out before it got infected.

"I'll tell Diska." Andie said as she landed, bounding off towards the healer's den without checking with Anarai first. Stepping into the thicket where Diska had all of her healing supplies, Andie looked around for the white dragoness. In the back of the thicket, a hunched over dragoness was coaxing a hatchling to eat some berries. Clearing her throat, Andie watched as Diska looked up from the hatchling and stared at her a moment before dropping the berries beside the hatchling and walking over to her clan mate. "What is it, Andie?" Diska asked, sighing.

"Rai has a pretty nasty scratch on her leg from a mountain lion." Andie replied simply. Diska searched her eyes for an explanation but decided it wasn't worth it. "Bring her to me." The tired healer said, walking back over to the hatchling only to see it fast asleep.

Boulder watched Andie head off to the Diska's den. Still carrying the cub, he scrambled up the side of the great mountain and made his way to his den. Plopping the cub down on the corner of his nest, Boulder curled up and rested his claws over his long snout. The cub silently crawled over to Boulder and rubbed against his flank before curling up in a ball and falling asleep.

Anarai, tired from the fight, slowly walked over to Diska, trying to hide her limp as much as possible.

Diska watched as Rai walked into the den, trying to hide her limp. Stepping towards her clanmate, Diska bent down and sniffed the wound. "It's short but deep. You'll have to keep your weight off of it and rest it for about a week." She said, walking into the medicine storage and bringing back a yellow and green pulp. She smeared it onto Rai's wound and wrapped it in a bandage made from shedded dragon skin.

"Take three of these seeds every few hours and your wound will be healed in no time." Diska said, smiling.

Andie flew past Boulder up to her den and settled down on the clumpy nest. Yawning, she lay her head down on her feet and closed her eyes, quickly drifting off into dreamland.

Opening her eyes wide, Andie found herself in a forest. The trees were low and she felt really cramped under their low canopy. Desperate to get out of there, she started walking and suddenly paused when a dragoness appeared in front of her. "Hello, Andromeda. My name is Arceden. Do not be afraid." The dragoness spoke. As Andie looked closer, she noticed that the dragoness what transparent! "I come as a friend. Not as an enemy." She said before vanishing. The forest around her vanished as well and Andie found herself standing on the battlefield, a place she had only been to once before.

Boulder was having the exact same dream as Andie.
