Ellis grinned deviously. "Nailed it." he replied. "We need all of us to do something like this, but, with practice, you can do all of this by yourself."
Kyler was beginning to get really, really scared. Not that this experience was scary enough already, but now this was just too freaky to be real.

Ellis moved his hand, gesturing for everyone to tone down the storm a bit, then be broke a pebble off of one of his flying boulders. He made the pebble float over to Damien. "Put your hand under the pebble, and concentrate. You'll see what happens."

Kyler stared in disbelief at the small stone floating above Damien's hand. She looked back at Ellis, suspicious of him holding it up for Damien.
Ellis put his hands in the air. "I'm not doing it." he admitted. "It's him." He put his hands back down and lowered the objects that were circling around him until they were back on the ground. "Now do you understand?" he said. "Now do you see?"

"Dame..." Kyler breathed, mentally pinching herself to make sure she wasn't dreaming.
Ellis smirked, crossing his arms. "So are you staying or not?" he challenged.
"Hey!" Kyler retorted, taking a step forward. "He just learned his powers! You can't give him a freaking minute?"
Ellis backed up, chuckling under his breath. "Fiesty!" he laughed, to which Tara rolled her small, lavender eyes.

Ellis shoved his hands in his pockets. "Sure," he replied, "We're always over here nowadays. Anytime you wanna start your training, just come here." His eyes flicked to Kyler, and grin spread across his face. Without looking away, he told Damien, "And bring your friend, too."
Kyler abruptly turned around and grabbed Damien's forearm, tugging him back towards the exit. "Let's get out of here." she growled, sick of having this new freak staring at her like she was a piece of meat.

"I'm sorry." Kyler said quietly when they left the lake. "I just really had a horrible feeling about that guy, but I know now..." she looked up at him and bit her lip, hoping Damien knew how she was feeling. She put her arm around the back of his waist, too. "I'm just surprised is all. About... all that."

She looked back into his eyes, wondering the same thing he was. "Yeah," said Kyler, "I mean, why has it waited to come out until now?" She looked at the ground, puzzled. "I don't know. Maybe we're both hallucinating."

Kyler looked back at him and laughed. "We were going to hang, but I guess we can go somewhere else." She reached back and pulled the chip bag back out of her backpack. "We've still got these." she reassured, smiling and shaking the bag temptingly. "So where do you think we should go?"
