Cynder snarled at Peach and sent a cascade of fire at her...only for Spyro to jump in the way and take a hard hit. "Foolish boy, still have hope in this miserable world, don't you?"

"Cynder! I know this isn't you!" yelled Spyro. "You aren't this...this monster! Remember who you are!"

Cynder laughed. "You mean your little girlfriend?" she asked. "Sorry Spyro, but that whimp isn't here, I'm the Cynder you imprisoned those years ago when you defeated me in Convexity!" she yelled, hatred in her voice. "Your Cynder is here," she stated, and showed her eye to the Smashers, revealing the real Cynder contorting in terror and fear.

"No..." she muttered. "I-I'm not a monster...why don't you believe me?" asked the real Cynder in the throws of her worst nightmare.

As Spyro stared in horror, Cynder took advantage and wrapped her long tail around him. "Your compassion is going to get you killed!" she said, taking flight, dragging Spyro behind her and grinding him against the side of the stadium, tearing away the stone with his smaller body and pummeling him badly before slamming him hard to the ground below, not trophifying him, but leaving him badly hurt.

Samus snarled at this. "What a dirty trick..." she muttered, Cynder having pretty much held her real self hostage to hurt Spyro.

Link quickly lanched himself at Cynder, preparing to strike her with the flat of his blade; it carried enough force to stagger and possibly bruise a normal moster, but beyond that, it wouldn't harm her. Then again, this was no ordinary enemy; his sword might not have any effect, and how would Spyro react?

He found himself being catapulted to the ground by a sudden gust of her wings, the wind partially knocked out of him. "Midna! You have to try and use 'puppet'! Knock some sence into her!"

The imp curtly nodded before unleashing a small ball of electrified energy from between her hands towards Cynder before dashing over to help Peach. She used her extended hair to fiercely beat the flames from the princess's dress. "Are you alright? Well good, glad to here it! Next time, don't act so brashly," she muttured curtly.

"Th-thank you, Midna. I owe you one," murmured Peach.

"No, you really don't. The real ones you should be thanking are those two over there, and possibly the plummer," she shrugged in the general direction of both the winded Link and the pulpish Spyro.

Peach blushed slightly at the reference to Mario, though her eyes smoldered with both embarrasment and rage, at herself, the emperor, and the corrupted Cynder. "EAT TURNIPS!" she cried, chucking several veggetables at the black dragon. A wicked laugh escaped the dragon's maw, followed by another torrent of flames. Finely chopped rosted veggetables littered the ground around Peach, bouncing with soft thuds. "...oh."

Midna snorted. "Thanks, but I'm not hungry!" Midna snarled, scattering the turnip chunks in an arch with her hair. She quickly grabbed the princess from behind the arms -she was surprisingly light for her height- and quickly flew to a somewhat safer alcove several feet away. "Stay here!" she hissed before dashing in a sharp downwards angle to drag Link away from another torrent of flames. "Where would you be without me?" she muttered.

"Good question, but thanks anyways." He wiped the stinging sweat from his eyes. "We just can't touch her! I'd hate do admit it, but she's stronger than before."

"It's 'mercy'," Midna murmured.

"What was that?"

"It's 'mercy', the difference. She's not stronger; she's just not holding back. In otherwords, she's hungry for blood, and we'll just be ripped to pieces if we keep up this stradagy."

"Ahawahawash! [Not me, bonehead!] Techashaw aldii? [What good are two version of me?]" He quickly swallowed Kirby, temporarily trapping the puff ball within an egg.

OOC: Please don't control Cynder, I'll let it slide with other bosses (minus certain ones) but not Cynder or the Emperor.

Cynder growled. "I've had enough of this." she said, knocking them away with her tail. "I'm not here to beat you heroes, I'm just here to pick something up." she explained, flying up and grabbing the trophy reserved for the winner of the now cancled tournament. "But I'll leave you someone to deal with. Gaul! Handle them!"

In a red smoke, the Ape King Gaul manafested before them with a howl. "Prepare to die, heroes!" he yelled, pulling out his swords and preparing for battle.

Samus watched Cynder fly off. "We can't let her escape. Anyone that's coming with me, hop into the Gunship!" she yelled, calling it and jumpping into the ship.

Boss Battle: Stadium Smashers vs. Ape King Gaul

Options:

1) Stay and battle Gaul

or

2) Join Samus to go after Cynder.

OOC: oops! I'm really sorry, I didn't realize that I had, but I will be more careful in the future. I was trying to avoid auto attacking by making my characters' attacks ineffective...

OOC: Its fine, just please continue.

Zelda nodded. "I'll leave it to you two and relay any information I find. Here!" she said as she tossed three maximum tomatoes. "Give these to Spyro; I found them in a crate by accident. I'll trust that the rest of you are fairing well enough. Peach! Are you coming?"

Peach gulped, glancing from where the battle was taking place and where the gunships were preparing to take flight. "I-I'm going to stay here!" she called back. With that, she hopped down from her perch to join the others.

"Hmph. Sounds like we've already been decided for. Let's take this guy down!" Midna winked towards Link.

"Seems to be that way. Besides," he said casually, tightening his grip on his hilt and readjusting his hold on his shield. "Battle's been more of my thing anyways."

Yoshi took a few minutes to giggle at the eggified Kirby, literally rolling on the floor, before joining the group that was to leave in the ships, sides aching. "Yoshi adahwah eddish. [I'm going with them.] Bye!"

Fox looked around and saw a lot of people leaving but saw that Link and Midna were staying. "I'm staying." Fox announced to them.

Falco sighed at his captain but stood up straight "I guess I'll stay too." Falco said.

Lucario nodded "I'm staying,with more brawlers,the easier this guy will be defeated."

Kirby waved "Kunochi wenji!" [See ya!].

OOC: not to be a nag, but if both Falco and Fox are staying, then whose ships are the brawlers using? O.o

OOC: Samus'

Samus got those going into her ship and took off after Cynder.

Spyro groaned, trying to stand but falling down. He was startled to see Gaul, but in no condition at the moment to do much about it. So he tried to crawl back stage where the supplies were kept and find a healing item he could use.

Gaul let out a roar and swung his swords at the nearest Smasher he could find.

An unsuspecting Peach was sent flying backwards several feet, a stinging sensation pulsating in her left hip. She sqeezed her eyes shut to blot out the second pain of the ground impact, but to her astonishment, it never came.
She slowly opened her eyes, the sky above being her only line of sight. "Mario?" she murmured.

"Hardly!" Midna snapped. "Now get off, ya great oaf!" Before the princess could reply, she had pushed her off with one, smart whip of her hair. Peach was once again catapulted into the sky.

"Midna..." Link groaned.

"Right, I'd better go get her. Huh! Even those Ordon brats weren't nearly this much trouble!" she sighed before flying off to catch the magical flying blonde.

Two spindly hands clamped down around Peach's shoulders. She whirled her head around; her surprise quickly faded as disgust booted it out. "Oh. It's just you," she said, nose turned up in the air.

"Heh! Well you don't have to be a snob about it," Midna replied. "Come to think of it... While we're up here, do you have any more turnips?"

"Umm... turnips grow from the ground?"

"Yes, I know turnips grow underground! They're a root! But do you have any with you?" Midna exclaimed impatiently.

"You have to pick them first, silly!" Peach giggled.

"Uhg. You're ride ends here, do what you want; use your parasol, or a downward smash, so long as it's useful. I"m getting Link. See ya!" Without warning, Midna released her grip from around Peach's arms.

Finally! I thought she'd never leave! Peach thought irritably as she hovered above the boss's head. She suddenly canceled her spell, letting herself drop. "Hah-CHAAA!!! Peach Bomber!" she shouted with glee as she gathered flames underneath her heals for her body-slamming fireball.

Midna rolled her eyes as she joined Link once again. "Operation Areal Bomber?" she suggested.

Link shrugged. "It wouldn't be your worst idea," he replied.

Midna gave a curt nod. Soon, the two were in the air. She let go of Link; he unleashed a few bombs as he hurtled to the ground, and unsheethed his sword for a downwards smash.
