The black wolf stopped for a moment. "I... can't be sure." he said. "Not yet, at least." Twilight looked her in the eye. "But it is possible. I would like you keep this quiet. When the time is right. Talk to the girl for me, but wait till tomorrow. She needs rest. Find out what her mother's name. Then I'll know for sure." He paused to turn back to the pool. "I'll wait here till then. Don't mention her to me. I'd like to introduce myself, if my theory is correct."

Tosca nodded understandingly. "I'll let you know as soon as I find out"
After nodding to her brother, she departed back to the den. She was still deep in thought by the time she came to the den. She wanted to find out what was going on with Twilight and Dusk and she didn't want to wait until morning.
As her claws clicked on the den floor, Una raised her head, but recognizing her sister, she went back to sleep. Tosca curled up next to Yuma and drifted off herself, anxious to question Dusk the following morning.

Rowtag watched his sister leave, then walked up next to his unspoken mentor. "Are you certain?" he asked quietly. A look from Twilight is all it took. The younger black wolf nodded his understanding, then made his way out of the clearing and to the den. As he silently made his way inside, he caught sight of Dusk's faint form in the far corner of the cave. Twilight's usual corner. Rowtag smiled. I guess they really are related he thought. He saw the black female shiver and frowned in concern. Checking that his other siblings were asleep first, he curled up next to her. Dusk tensed up in her sleep for just a moment, then relaxed and drift towards the new source of heat, smiling slightly. Rowtag smiled a little, then drifted off to sleep himself. Tomorrow would be most interesting...

Once the sun had warmed her fur up, Tosca was wide awake. She fidgeted in the early morning cold, waiting for everyone to wake up and get out before she questioned Dusk.

It wasn't long before Kai was up too, jumping up eagerly and excitedly yipping at Yuma and Una to get up so she could go out and play.

Dusk stirred and cracked her eyes open. For a moment she felt panic, when she didn't know where she was. Then she remembered the events of the day before and relaxed. She looked around her surroundings, and was slightly startle to see another black wolf sitting nearby watching her. "Um... hello?" she asked.

Rowtag smiled at her and nodded. "Good morning." he said, before turning away and giving her some space.

As soon as Tosca heard the voices inside the den, she hurried right back in, pausing for a moment to figure out how to question the young wolf gently.
"How're you feeling Dusk?" she tried to start without seeming too nosy.

The young she-wolf stood shakily to her feet. "A little better." she said. "Could've been a lot worse, if you ask me. My aunt almost drowned once. She said it wasn't an experience she'd care to repeat."

"It's a good thing you got out" Tosca smiled. "It's lucky you got out especially if you were alone"
After a moment, Tosca added gently, "Why were you alone?"

Dusk's face fell. "Oh... Well I just sorta... Ran away from home." she mumbled, so quietly it was barely audible. "I guess I just needed to find my own way, you know?" She looked into Tosca's eyes. "Just wanted find some answers."

"Oh, I understand" Tosca replied. "We ran away from our home too... but maybe we could help you out?" the tawny wolf offered as she led the younger wolf out of the den for fresh air. "What were you looking for?"

The black she-wolf's eyes squinted as she adjusted to the sunlight. "Well... I know it sounds silly, but I'm actually out here looking for another wolf." Her keene eyes caught sight of the black wolf she'd met earlier. "Who's that?" she asked.

Tosca followed Dusk's line of sight and spotted Rowtag.
"That's Rowtag" Tosca said simply. "He's my younger brother. He doesn't talk much but he's a good guy"

Dusk nodded slowly. "If you say so." she said. "Didn't seem all that quiet this morning." She frowned briefly. "Then again all he said was 'Good morning' so I guess that qualifies as not being very talkative."

Tosca grinned. She'd rarely heard Rowtag talk at all... maybe it was hanging out with Twilight that was finally getting him to open up... or maybe even Dusk herself... which reminded her!
"Oh, and this might seem a little strange, but what was your mother's name? Someone else wanted me to ask you..." Tosca explained sheepishly.

Dusk looked away from Rowtag and frowned at her. "That's is an odd question." she said. She looked away and a small smile spread across her face. "Mother always said that she was named for the season she was born in. Winter." A small tear came to her eye. "I miss her..." she said, her voice shaking a little.
