Aaron walked along a desolate dirt road. He stopped and sighed, breathing deeply just to pass the time. There was nothing really he had to do. But just in the distance, he saw a town. It seemed slightly interesting. And with that, he stuffed his hands into his pockets and headed towards the city.

Lyllii turned; the elf was nowhere to be scene among the throng of people. She was begining to feel desperate; if they didn't find someone in authority -and quick- all of these people would die needlessly. Why do you want to help them so desperately? Don't you hate them?, a nagging question asked; Lyllii refused to answer.
"Kasha, time is against us. If we don't do something-" Suddenly the nymph broke off, temperarily forgeting what she had to say. "I wonder if he could help," she murmured impulsively. Without waiting for a response from the anthro, the nymph marched over to where Aaron shuffled. The crowd nervously parted, and the streets became eerily quiet. "My friend and I are trying to find the mayor, but neither of us can read very well, and these superstitious folk refuse to help us. Would you?" she asked.

Aaron suddenly stopped in his tracks, unsure why someone would automatically come up to him the second he stumbled upon the city. He ansered their question, though, hesitantly. "Uh... Sure. What exactly do you need help with though?" From the outside, he looked like a normal being. No one out of the ordinary. Just your average human. But as the new look on his face, one of mixed expressions which could only be determined as a yearning to understand, emerged, you could see a quick flash in his eyes. For just a moment, his pupils minimized, turning into snake like slits. The blue irises rimming the corners expanded to fill the est of his eyes. For a split second, you could see his dragon eyes. He couldn't control it. It just happened sometimes in certain situations. As he realized what happened he almost prayed through the walls in his mind that no one had noticed.

Images of flames flashed in front of her eyes, along with jeering faces as she burned, her skin. Lyllii shook her head; the burning sensation vanished and she was back in reality, but the tiny flame-like orbs remained deep within his pupils.
So he has the fire, but what happened to me has nothing to do with him, she chastised herself harshly. She turned and faced Aaron once again. "Huh? Oh yeah. What we need help with. Actually, it's kinda embarassing," Lyllii admitted. "My companion and I are trying to find the mayor, but neither of us read well. On top of that, this town will be engulfed by flames if we can't find someone of authority to order them to evacuate," she added in a quieter voice. "We just barely escaped the eruption ourselves, and I guess you could say that we stopped by here on a whim."

Aaron turned away, realizing his eyes might be revealing what he truly was. Once they got back to normal he managed a soft chuckle. "It's alright. I'd be happy to help." He began walking ahead of them. Although he hadn't visited the town before, for some reason he was familiar with the language. He was able to read it and understand it even though he never knew about this ability until this very moment.

Kasha had been slightly irritated when Lylli had raced off, leaving the anthro to catch up...and for apparently no reason. The only reason she followed was her curiosity. The nymph did say "he" might be able to help, and curiosity is one of a cat's many traits. She did continue to hold her staff in a pre-battle position; she wasn't about to be killed like that saying she absolutely hated said.
She sheathed her weapon when she saw he meant no harm. Even though she had noticed his pupils, and how the had changed to slits rather than circles, she dismissed it. He seemed to be a trusting soul; not the kind who would betray you the second you turned you back. She walked back to the sign with them, and tried to wait for him to read it...she really did try. But she was impatient and couldn't help blurting out, "So? WHat does it say?!"

Aaron ignored the stranger's impatience as he tried to decipher the sign. "It says...." he tilted his head and pointed towards the way the arrow did. "This way!" He began running towards that direction. The sign had said 'House of the Mayor' in broad terms. As Aaron ran, though, he realized he had never even properly introduced himself. Neither had they. He was helping them out by playing the part of translater and he didn't even know their names. Weird how the world worked, huh?

Lyllii paced herself next to the anthro. "Sorry about running off again," she sighed. "I'm begining to see that I tend to be flighty by nature. Anyways," she added in a lower voice. "Should we continue to trust him? Technically, he's already helped us; we needed a sign read, and he did so."
You should be more suspicious! she chastized herself. The forest was destroyed, and now you're trying to save the humans that indirectly caused its destruction! She groaned to herself. But there's no use in moping over what cannot be resolved, she argued. Besides, Kasha wouldn't betray me... would she? Why am I already trusting these people when I've known them for less than a few hours?
A building, surpassing the others in grandur by far, loomed ahead in the distance, growing steadily larger as the other mansions thinned and overly-pruned poplers and citrus trees, in Lyllii's opinion, gradually replaced them. Intricate designs created and dyed by fragile-looking domestic flowers weaved around the trees, filling the air with a sickly sweet odor. Uhg... that's just wrong! she sniffed scornfully at the lacy petals. When she thought no one was watching, she caused a morning glory vine to encircle one trunk. "Much better!" she murmured, pleased with her "improvements". As the vine's waxy tendrils and leaves unfurled, she ignored the depleted feeling as it gradually sapped energy from her body.

"I'm not sure yet. He doesn't seem like he would be capable of doing anything to harm us...then again, I've known him for only a few minutes," Kasha amended, breathing lightly from the exersize. It had been a while since she had had the need to run this much in one day, although she still remained fit. It was hard to loose that lean look you gained from fighting and living in a forest.
When they reached the mayor's house, the anthro turned her nose up at it. "What kind of person would even think of living in a snobby place like that?" she asked. Truthfully, she thought she might, but it wasn't in her nature to say so. She caught motion in her peripheral vision, and grinned when she saw what it was. "Nice improvements, Lylli. Try making the flowers smell a bit more natural next."

OOC: accepted! xD
BIC: Lyllii shrugged. "I've used up too much energy on plants already. Unfortunately, I'll never have the chance to give this plot a make-over," she said, pouting slightly. "That's the trouble; in order to cause something to grow, it uses my own energy, so it's useless to try and grow food; the energy gained would equal the same amount I sacrificed," she explained.
Suddenly, the group found themselves at the mansion's iron gates, the stone walls beyond rising up to blot out the sun. An acrid odor wafted into her nostrils; smoke.

When Aaron arrived at the mansion along with the other two, he scoffed. Just by the looks on their faces and the way they didn't even seem to be directing many sentences towards him, he could feel he wasn't really welcome. "You guys don't trust me very much, do ya?" He laughed sarcastically to himself. "Am I just a helper to you? To be used and then thrown out when you're done using my services? Cause if that's the case then I'm out of here." He paused. "Not that you'd need any more help. You're already at the mayor's house so, I'll be on my way." He put his hands in his pockets and walked behind a tree. When he thought they weren't looking, he transformed. His white skin turned to a golden color, a bit of a darker shade than his hair. His clear blue eyes turned to dragon eyes, the same way they had before when he had a look of curiousity visible on his face. The color of his clothes seemed to blend into his stomach and lower neck as a blueish color made itself known. And after all that, enormous wings ripped out from his sides. He roared a loud roar when the transformation was complete. Now with just a few flapsof his mighty wings, he would be ready to get out of the place.

Lyllii whirled around. Where the mysterious boy had dissapeared to now stood a dragon. "Kasha, don't attack, but look!" she hissed to her companion, filled with awe. The burning sensation she experienced a little while before briefly returned again, stronger this time, but it wasn't evil. To her surprise, it felt beautiful -like the sun- but it was edged with sorrow. She meekly approached the dragon.
"It's you, right? My companion and I didn't mean to offend you; both of us are wary towards strangers. You are more than welcome to join our group, though we won't force you, and I can't always promise that we'll be the most receptive; you of all people should understand that. But... My name's Lyllii," she finished awkwardly, dragging her covered toe in the dust. "But you'll have to ask her too," she quickly added. I have been so selfish; I can't aford to continue to offend Kasha!

"I'm completely fine with you accompanying us. As Lylli mentioned, we're a bit wary with strangers. I've mainly lived in a forest all of my life, a bit of an outcast," Kasha's face darkened, despite her efforts to be cordial and polite. "I'm not exactly a people person...I like to get to know them before hanging around them." Her paws itched to pull out her staff; she wasn't good with apologies, and honestly, it comforted her to have the battle-worn weapon in her grasp...even if it may not help with the situation.
