I'm glad to hear I succeeded in that matter. And yes, they'll make it here eventually. And then I'll leave. But to change a few words form my previous post ('cause I'm sure some of you didn't read it); Even if the words will make it here eventually, does it mean we have to make them come even faster? I think we should allow Animation Source to remain uncorrupted for as long as possible. I don't even see why people say these things on the internet in the first place. To quote someone I once heard; "If you wouldn't say it to your grandmother or a five-year-old, why post it where the whole world can see?" It brings up an important question. You have to think about the variety of your audience. It includes young, innocent children, some elderly members, and then those who don't enjoy cursing for religious beliefs, and personal standards. (such as me) And if you would say these crude, horrible words to your grandmother or a five-year-old, then Animation Source is not the place for you.

No site is perfect. Some moderators are lax in their jobs, and others are doing a fantastic job. And the rules are the rules. Deal with the situation as-is, or go find what you would consider to be greener pastures elsewhere. Perfectly Said JC <3 Take this for example, in real life we have rules, per say road rules. Many don't like it and many do. When you make a road infraction and get caught, you'll either end up with a good cop or a bad cop. Either way all they are doing is enforcing a rule, where nicely or thru means of an action. Personally I'm a mod that doesn't have favorites, you break A rule I'm telling you, whether a new member or an old old friend.-
Personally I agree with the tune up on the rules about cursing. I'm sick and tired of watching all the young people today running around cursing out of every two words they say. It's nice to see a site where they have to find more words to speak, it's not bad for anyone. It helps you expand your mental vocabulary when speaking so you wont look like such an ignorant person that marks everything and everyone with useless and dis-respectful words. And I'm sure a lot of parents would be surprised to find their children speaking appropriate words. It doesn't matter if you know bad words since you were 5. You'd have to end up respecting the rules, because even if they don't catch you the first or the second time, you'll be paying time either way.
If you notice or see a mod that clearly saw an infraction, PM to a mod you can confide in and let them handle it. Or steet or Togo. 'nuff Said

Drama has been going on here for years, and that will never change. Never.. You seem to be trying to change this place; it isn't going to work I'm afraid. There used to be a movement for this in 2008, but it didn't work out. And THIS was a group, and I was in it...Now I'm not trying to be rude or fight with you, but your trying to bring peace movement is a bit annoying. Or perhaps taking it a bit too far. *Points to your signature* On topic: The rules are the rules. If it's a swear it's a swear, and it will be against the rules. OK guys youve made your point here, just trying to be a good samaritian and help out. Just back off if you dont like what Im doing. And JC, I understand your concern but you dont have to be a exec on this site to make a change. Sorry if this got off-topic.

Thank you, Sepp. You saved me from saying something, and I don't think I could have put it quite as elegantly as you did in my current, frazzled state of mind, XD. Back on topic. Stuff like this happens in the real world as well. Yes, people get away with things sometimes - it's not due to those in charge being unfair, sometimes they just want to give people a break. I know I've done it with newbs and non-newbs alike whenever I've felt charitable. You can't be strict and rule-lording 100% of the time when you're in an authoritative position. It will make you seem inhuman and uncaring - which the moderators certainly are not. Addressing the part about the people getting away with it being friends and such: honestly, who wouldn't give their friends a break once in a while? Everyone does it, or probably would do it given the opportunity. Now, this doesn't make it right, but the fact is, that's how it is. The same thing exists in real world politics - if you're friends with the dude in charge, you get benefits. Right or wrong, it won't change because that's something that's pretty much ingrained into us. Another point I thought would be interesting to add is this. Say the person has a habit of breaking 1 of the less serious rules over, and over, and over. I'm sure we can all bring at least one of these individuals to our minds. Sometimes it's just easier, and better for the well-being of the site as a whole, to make peace and not war in those situations, especially when said individual will not be swayed to stop by a warning, and a ban will not have any actual disciplinary value. In other words, sometimes it's just easier and better for the well-being of everyone to just let it slide so that no big drama or anything happens. As in everything, you have to pick your battles.

Not at all surprising, given how you've responded to staffers in private, when they've taken you to task for things you've already done wrong. And that is not about to happen. Staffers have a job to do, and you're not being happy with it makes no difference. Just as people have a right to comment on your posts, and the same logic applies. And really, this is starting to get supercilious, and this whole discussion is becoming ridiculous and superfluous. FACT: you do have to be a staffer on this site to make a change. Period. And, actually, most staffers cannot even make changes...they can only do the duties assigned to them, and assure compliance with the rules. Any member fomenting opposition to the existing rules or the staff enforcement OF those rules will sooner or later find themselves banned. Possibly PERMA-BANNED. Get the point already. It's time to move on now...unless you're shooting for that goal, that is. Then, by all means, the staff can accomodate you. lol Faye DH.X™ wrote: Perfectly Said JC <3 Aniu Caelestis wrote: Thank you, Sepp. You saved me from saying something, and I don't think I could have put it quite as elegantly as you did in my current, frazzled state of mind, XD. Well though I can see the concern of Question saying for us to stay on-topic (yes, i embrace that) i do think that JCs comment was acceptable. moral here: read before reply. And just for Jcs knowledge he is no longer a foe.

>.> Anyway, moving away from BaltoLuv's peace signature. . .
Now, I do agree with Aniu Caelestis with the whole giving your friends a break once in a while. So it's fine to give your friends a break, but when someone is not your friend you can warn / ban them? I still believe this is a fairness issue. Here's a scenario, let's say I'm in the shout box with a 'popular' artist or fan-fic writer, and they say a curse. And let's say I said a curse too. Who do you think is going to get in trouble? A random user like myself, or a 'super' popular artist? Most of you are probably thinking me. And yes, it's happened before. It won't say names, but this person cursed not only once, but twice and it was over-looked. Even though you deny it, it's obvious the mods have their favorites.

Lol, it cracks me up about the whole "peace signature" thing cause' thats a serious statement. I do agree with the fairness issue, everyone has feelings. Very good scenario there, you have made a very good point. Congrats.

The only problem with favoritism is it isn't something we can brainstorm for a solution with. It can't be helped. It's not like we force them to make an oath saying that they will not show favoritism while doing their duties.
I think if I were a mod, I would find it hard to reprimand my friends as well. The only thing was, I would probably still do it anyway, just because that was my job.
But back to my other point; favoritism can't be helped. All we can do is contact someone else, and hope that they will take action if the first didn't.
