On his next attempt to jump, at the peak of the jump, Ilac placed a hand under Eevee's front paw and hoisted her up into the basket. "Mount up, Kenji," he said again. "Doduos are faster than walking."

"Not exactly like you, Eevee," said Ilac. "Kenji's basically loaning you to me. He wants me to help you get stronger, because he doesn't have enough time to do it himself. The Pokémon that are gifts are actually mine, like a Castform." Ilac then braked...they were already at the lake. Ilac unwrapped a candy from his pocket and tossed it high. The Doduo ran up just in time to snatch the candy out of the air. There was a white flash.
