Shay falt as if she were hyperventilating, wings automatically flaring from some new instinct as he walked closer, keys dangling from his hand. he unlocked both of their cages, and HSya forced her trembling legs to move, standing up once outside.

But she also knew that James was waiting for a signal to escape, to made her qings extend to their full length. The movement was awkward, as the limbs were new, along with the function of moving them. "Now!" she cried out, dashing to the window. Amazed at the speed she ran, she increased it, crashing through the window with surprising ease. Glad wire wasn't embedded in it, she heard the whitecoat's startled and angry cry, claling for backup. Air rushed past Shay, and she grinned wildly. Dirty-blond hair was tousled further by the wind, and Shay struggled to fly. Fear now wiped the grin off her face, as the movement wasn't instinctive, but was necessary. She forced herself to flap over and over, though it seemed to have no effect. Just as her feet brushed the grassy ground, she lifted into the air. Laughter wiped away he fear as the feeling of giddiness coursed through her.

She looked behind her, and saw someone holding up a gun. "Crap," she said. "James, dive! Now!" She would've already done it, as the need for self-preservation was strong, but she waited for her brother, having a strong bond with him.

"And I don't think we should search for our parents now....the whitecoas will be expecting that." She let silence fill the air momentarily, still flying awkwardly, though it did become slightly more natural after a few flaps.
