"Just hold out a little bit longer," SKye said anxiously.

Ryan fought against his thirst, making it so that he'd be able to hold on until the wolves got back.

About fifteen minutes later, Zac returned. He shook his head to say that there was no prey around.

Ryan's eyes were crazy. He couldn't hold on for another minute. He had now lost control and couldn't stop himself. He lunged for the only living thing near him: Zac. He pushed him to the forest ground, sinking his fangs into Zac's jet black fur.

Zac was in incredible pain. He couldn't escape. As much as he moved, he couldn't get away. He was slowly dying. "Maya! Maya!!" he called desperately.

"Zac!" Maya cried, her horro freezing her in place.

Skye turned away, her hands shaking as she watched Ryan suck the wolf. "Oh, no," she whispered, as her eyes went red. She tried to resist, but eventually turned around again. THe sight of Ryan made her immediatly lust more storngly, and she lunged for the female wolf, who yelped, and whined.

Ryan was unaware of Skye's bloodlust as well. At least not until he was done. Once he had gotten enough blood, his eyes turned back to normal. But he was still sucking on the wolf. Seeing that there was still chance the creature could live, Ryan willed himself to stop. He pulled away, and turned from the wolf, ashamed he couldn't control himself. He wiped the blood from his mouth and looked back at the wolf, as if to beg for forgiveness.

Zac felt Ryan's teeth leave his body, and all of a sudden, even though the pain should've stopped, it got worse. He thrashed around like a fish, in so much pain he couldn't control his movements.

Ryan saw that Skye finished and leaned to whisper to her,"I couldn't take it... I feel horrible..."

Zac finally gained control of his body again, and he stopped thrashing so wildly. He was able to get up and once he did, he looked sadly at the two vampires, dissapointed that they couldn't control themselves. But now he had a weird feeling in his throat. It soon began to build and he lost the sad look in his eyes. Once the feeling almost took hold of him, he began to understand just how hard it was for them to stop. Instead of being sad, he turned to an appreciative expression. As if to say 'thank you for saving me'.

Following behind Zac, Maya stopped thrashing, and lay there shuddering for a minute. She forced herself up, feeling dizzy, but...grateful.

Ryan looked Zac in the eyes. "I'm so sorry... I couldn't control myself..."

Zac shook his head. "The important thing is you stopped. At least I'm alive," he replied.

Zac's scratchy throat suddenly dissapeared. It was probably just an effect of the transformation. But little did he know just how much he and Maya had changed...

Zac looked up at the now black sky and decided to invite Ryan and Skye to his and Maya's home. But first he had to ask. He turned towards Maya. "Should we lead them to the cave?" he asked.

Maya nodded. "They'll need somewhere to stay for the night," she said, the stars glittering overhead.

Zac nodded and circled the two vampires, signaling for them to follow him and Maya. He then began to walk towards the cave.
