Surprisingly often actually. I've found most people don't want to sound silly on a forum. Most.

But the way many members type, they just seem to be in too much of a hurry to care how they spell (which by their spelling errors they know how to spell [for example: I have a redd jacke tthat keeps me very wram.]). ...or they use text talk. Which isn't allowed here anyway.

Zappy's Thunder wrote: This site was made mostly for YOUNG kids, so they aren't all gunna be the best spellers at seven or eight years old. T_T Actually, Zappy, no. This is a family website, made for members of all age forms. After all, most of us (including myself) were rather young when the first movie came out. Others, whom are older, may also be interested in the true story. Some adults -- my mate and I included -- just often enjoy some 2D animations with talking animals. And most members aren't "seven or eight" years old. Actually, if the lot are, I will then question their parents as to why their young are allowed to be on the Internet at all. There's a lot of nasty stuff out there -- increasingly here -- that I don't want most fifteen-year-olds to encounter. It is my personal observation that the vast majority of this site is between nine and 47 years old. Many of whom (especially the moderators) are in high school or, hey, even college. I'd also like to remind the vast majority in this topic that it revolves around those -- native English speakers -- who cannot spell as simple a word as "actually" or "great." Those whom are also old enough to know how to spell at least semi-complicated words, let alone beginner-style words such as "and, for, too/to/two." Just look at my examples.

Hahaha, 47. Jeez I know we have a handful of older members but that's not enough to take it away from the predominately pre-teen/teen/young adult crowd at all. Looking on site will show you this.

I most definitely agree with this.
Sure, I used to use stuff like 'r', 'u', and sometimes even '2day', but guess what? I broke that habit. Even though I sometimes mispell words (Example: I just had to re-do my word 'sometimes'. I accidentally spelled it 'sometiems'.), it's from typing fast like I always do, plus I don't always pay attention.
I'm not really one to use paragraphs, either. But I'm doing it now, aren't I? People in the world are just getting lazy, and I'm guessing they don't care whatsoever. For instance, I read this fanfic on The Lion King Source, I will not say which one it was and I won't say who wrote it, either, but it's grammar was horrible and there were approximately [b]no[b] complete sentences.
Note to people in the world: You should consider using descriptive words, full sentences, paragraphs, grammar, spelling, and a DICTIONARY. Looking up words to see what they mean and sometimes how to spell them is not that hard. It simply isn't. So if you're a person who uses text speak (Examples: 'u', 'r', '2day', 'tht', 'ur', and plenty more), read this. We need to use spelling and everything else I listed above.

Ignorance. Yes, this is a family's website, but then again--- is it not in the rules that you must type the way I am now instead of typing like this:
u guys r awsm! i wnna b like u 2!
Google Chrome, which I use, is much like Microsoft Word for the internet. It uses spell check, which actually red-lined the "awsm: and "wnna" in the sentence above.
Those who are responsible members would have READ the rules and known better better than to type like that.
Now, try--just TRY, to picture speaking to friends and family like this. It would be torture, yet some talk as if they're texting.
