Connor nodded. "My dad...he always said to do whatever it took to get ahead, to step on whoever you had to...and I did...but...he never said those I stepped on could one day be my equal and I'd know how they felt...and feel just rotton about it." he said, a lot of things coming to his mind. "He was wrong about how to live, I mean yeah, I got filthy rich but now that I know how animals feel...well I just feel filthy."

Takoda woke first, as he usually does. He squeezed himself quietly out of the wolf den and disappeared into the mist to find a morning meal.
He returned soon with a small rabbit for himself. He nudged Connor to wake him. "Get up," he growled, "because if you want to eat, you better learn to hunt."

Connor groaned but didn't complain about waking up early. "I was really hoping this was all a dream." he said with a sigh. "But at least she didn't dump me out here without someone's help."

Takoda passed over wild flowers, tall pine and evergreen trees. Past a river where a young family of bears splashed at each other with their paws while the mother merely laughed and pawed at the river for fish. It all was so peaceful, and beautiful. Chipmunks scurrying across, trying to find food, unaware that at this time, their homes would have been destroyed, had Mother Nature not intervene and watch it go by. "And this is what you wanted to destroy, you and your men. To do what? Build frivolous things in which mankind can live without? While we, here in the forest, struggle everyday to survive! We spend every day--or every night--looking for what might only last a few minutes to eat! And that is what man has come to... needless trinkets."

Connor pinned his ears and whimpered, instinctively. "Yes...I can see I was doing something wrong..." he said. "I guess I never stopped to see what was going to be destroyed...I'm feeling guilty..." he said. A Lynx walked by, having knowledge of who he was. He blinked. "Um hi..."
The Lynx snarled. "I don't care if you think you're guilty, you need to suffer for what you've been planning." he snarled, slashing Connor's face, leaving a bleeding mark. He then walked around behind Connor and double kicked him right in the groin with his hind legs.
Connor was still reeling from the slash when he felt pain tear through his body from the low blow. He moaned and fellt over, covering up in agony, even though it wasn't the wolf reaction to such an attack, his mind was still overall human. "Oh...low blow..." he moaned.
