OOC: Ooo... fun idea, Faye! ;D

Mort swung his feet as he stared at the ground. 'The bus is so BORING!' He moaned inside his head. He tried to make his toes touch the ground, but he had to slide forward to do that. He was in the tenth grade! Why was he so short? Mort glanced at Connor, who was staring blankly out the window same as always. He was tall enough to touch the floor and some.

Connor's expression suddenly turned curious as he looked at the scenery outside. "What is it?" Mort asked.

"This way's different..." He replied, then resumed staring at trees. The change in route only seemed to bother him for a moment. Mort however looked for who it was. A new student maybe?

Just then, the bus screeched to a halt. Mort glanced through the number of heads to see who it could be. A pretty new face emerged over the other curious eyes. Though surely many of the guys may be thinking 'girlfriend material‘, Mort could only hope it was a new friend.

He was excited when she sat in a seat right by theirs! She didn't seem to want to talk to anybody. 'Probably just shy.' Mort thought. 'She should know she's welcome here.' "Good morning!" He called to her...


Connor watched the trees and houses pass by, as his mind did its usual wondering. He wasn‘t a huge fan of the bus, but it did give him some great scenery for his thoughts. It didn‘t even bother him when Mort was always antsy in his seat, waiting for someone to wish him ‘good day‘ so he‘s have someone to talk to.

This morning, he wasn‘t given very long to think, before he realized that the trees and houses grew strange, as they entered a new road. Connor glanced at the houses and noticed they were fancier than his own. Mort and himself lived in houses that were so old, it was amazing that they were even still standing. These appeared to have just been built, or at least recently, he didn‘t know for sure. He preferred to stay in his own area where things were familiar. A girl walked onto the bus, Connor glanced at her and once again went back to his staring contest with the window frame.

He could hear Mort trying to have a conversation with her. He was always trying to make new friends, whither or not he had a chance at all with them. It might be annoying, but his determination was admirable.

"Good morning!"

It was no sooner after she had pulled her backpack off and sat down did a short, friendly voice rang to her ear. Looking over her eyes fell on the sight of the two guys, one evidently staring out the window and the one that had spoken to her. She had to smile at the shorter boys antics before she lowered the volume on her Mp4, and then removing one ear bud from her ear before speaking to him."Hey there.."She said, rather timid yet tender enough.

He reminded her greatly of her little cousin who she loved dearly. He was actually one of the few people in her family that she could stand. "I'm Brooklyn.. and you are..?" She could read the effort of trying to be-friend her bloom in his younger eyes so she leaned a bit to him, extending her had out for him to shake in a proper greeting, for once, this normal secluded female was being friendly.

Her green eyes glanced over the other boy against the window but quickly traced back to the short, brown-haired boy that had addressed to her. The friendly demeanor never left her eyes. Various loose strands of her side-bangs fell over and along her cheek.

Bridgete Looked up, "A new student!" she called out to her two best friends, they were like there own group. "Mort has a girlfriend!" she teased.

Lark laughed "looks like he does." he Looked up, "but she is pretty!" He felt a Loud slap off his arm. "Ouch!" he yelled.

Bridgete Glared at him. "I thought we were going to go out?" she Sounded really mad.

Lark smiled "We are!" he whined.

Bridgete Shoke her head. "Not now!" she teased.

Skye broke in. "Break it up! And I don't mean your relationship!" she said, a bit of humor twinkling in her blue eyes. She brushed her dark bangs out of her face slightly again, they had moved back in place, covering her face in a dark curtian. "Mort had a girlfriend...." she said, looking over at Mort and the new girl, who were apparently still talking, hard to tell over all the noise, but that's probably what they were doing. "I wonder who she is," Skye voiced. It wasn't often they got a new student, their town wasn't the biggest on the travel ageny maps. Ok, they probably weren't on it at all, but who knows. Skye groaned as the noise took an increase. She chucked a paper ball in a random direction, narrowly missing Mort's head, which happened to be her accidental target. She didn't ahev anything against the kid, but he wasn't exactly on her get-to-know list.

Brooklyn glanced up to where Mort motioned and chuckled looking over Conner's sleeping form before chuckling softly to herself. "Mmhm very lively" She had begun to relax and leaned back against her seat but kept up the conversation with the boy, nodding slowly. "Oh why thank you, I'm originally from New York.." Her voice trailed off as she looked around the heads of students and out the window as if searching for a highlight before looking back to Mort. "As you can guess, this town is a HUGE difference for me"

Brooklyn was the best tour for the city, being born in the big apple one couldn't disagree with her. She knew the streets and mingled well with them but this town was a complete throw back from the original horns, sirens and yelling; all the busy atmosphere she had grown with in New York. This area was relaxing and calm, serene one could say. "It's so different I actually got here early, back in NY I was always late" She said to Mort before watching a paper ball zoom over his head and smack Conner's cheek. Glancing up she looked up the isle to a blond girl and arched her thin brow, her pretty emerald eyes set on the girl's blue eyes, undeterred before looking back to Mort.

"What about you? Brooklyn asked him, watching Conner grunt and stir abit as she heard the shouts and giggles from the students sitting up closer to the bus driver, causing her to roll her eyes with a chuckle. To the stop of the bus she naturally glanced upwards to the black-haired boy that climbed on before he took a seat.

"Who's the new girl?"

She heard him say, loud enough but she only sunk herself deeper into her seat and winked at Mort, before whispering softly to him, the side of her fingers against her cheek. "Let's let him figure it out by himself"

bic:// Zac looked at Skye and nodded. "Yeah at least he'll have a new friend." he said laughing, then when he heard about the five page essay, his face went slighly black. "Five...page... essay?" he asked, his eyes growing bigger. "I don't remember any five page essay..." he said, thinking about all the pieces of homework he had been assigned. "You're kidding me." he said, then began to get a little suspicious. "Wait a minute..." he said in a joking tone, as he realized she was messing with him. "Haha, very funny." he said to her sarcastically, then began to really laugh. He took one more look at the new kid and thought for a minute. He looked back at Skye and said, "one sec, I'll be right back." then he headed over to the back of the bus where the new girl sat. He stood next to the seat, and looked from her to Mort. "So, you're new right? What's your name?" he said in a lively tone.

Brooklyn would listen carefully to Mort, wondering why the other people believed that her being polite and friendly to someone automatically made her a 'girlfriend' to some one she just barely met. Taking a glance away from the mumbling Conner she felt the presser of a male's palm on the seat before her, making her look up. He spoke directly at her, his tone rasping at her ears as she made a mental note of his face for any future reference she might ever need,; which, it being Brooklyn, would never be used.

"Brooklyn... and yes I'm new" She managed to say, mustering the most possibly nice voice she could pull off before resting her curled fingers against her chin, lightly tilting her head at him. "But you know.. it IS rude to interrupt before excusing yourself" Green/gold eyes shimmering brightly as she looked from Mort then back to him, her tone was slightly playful with the boy in front of her, letting him understand she wasn't being mean, just merely tugging his 'chains'. Of course she had city talk but she refused to bring it here and extended her had out to the boy before her, being polite to him aswell. "Pleased to meet you..."

OOC: ‘Mia’? Your posts are always excellent, Wolflover, but some mistakes you make confuse and make it hard to read at times, so may I recommend re-reading your ’reply’ before posting? I re-read mine at least twice before posting.

Connor's head swung forward a bit as they finally pulled up to the school doors. He watched Zac dash away before standing up and throwing his bag over his shoulder. Mort was still chatting away with the new girl. “Head up shrimp.” he warned before jumping over him into the isle. Pulling his jacket up to his ears to prepare for the cool winds, he leapt down the steps and walked quickly to homeroom.

Mort started to breathe again as Zac went away. He was too smooth talking, and it made him nervous, but the way Brooklyn handled it… he couldn‘t help himself, “You were awesome!” He said with a grin.

Just then, Connor‘s voice interrupted them. Mort ducked, and watched as his friend took off. “The faster he gets off the bus, the more time he has for sleep before classes start.” he said after him. He stood up and reached for his own bag. Might as well follow, but he hoped to talk to Brooklyn more. “What grade are you in?” She looked older than him, so to be sure; “Any chance we can chat more at lunch?”

OOC: *Ugh* I feel that could’ve been longer X3
But now what? Go through the classes? Skip to lunch? To when ever they get dared?

And if I forget to turn my sig off after every post, someone remind me please ^^;
