Disney's deep pockets...just get deeper. http://kotaku.com/5354532/disney-buys-w ... ie-founderThey just bought out a game studio (Wideload games) and Alexander Seropian the founder of both Wideload and Bungie. I feel like Disney must have some plan to make a Marvel video game seeing as how the two purchases are so close to each other. Much like the Marvel buy out Wideload isn't really a company one would think Disney would pair up with but I guess they have some plans for this studio. Unfortunately I couldn't find the sales figures yet but I'm sure they where in the millions of dollars

Well this sort of company buying happens all the time when it comes to video games, so I'm not sure this is related. But maybe. They said it's for new "IPs" - maybe their future animated films and series...Or live ones.

No, Disney Interactive is a collection of studios - not just one. This game studio will be one more with the brand "Disney Interactive" (which just means that they're producing games internally for Disney)

All of this would make Papa Disney turn in his grave T.T...
My opinion: The people at Disney have become lazy and uncreative. They don't know any new good ideas, even if they hit them in the face, so they have to rely on other companies that they pair up with/buy to do things for them anymore, just like Pixar. Square Enix better watch its back!

Quote: My opinion: The people at Disney have become lazy and uncreative. They don't know any new good ideas I don't think so - it seems more like a bad decisions problems. The artists are doing their job, but they're probably not as free as they were before. Now it's the marketing that decides everything, not the artists.

I'm not so sure about this...The man Walt Disney was one of the greatest business men of the last century probably equivalent to Donald Trump in skill. When he built Walt Disney World in Orlando he had a large group of fake corporations that he made up buy all the land that is now Disney world some 27,400 acres of land. He bought the land piecemeal in 5 and 10 acre allotments so that no one would notice the large amount of land being purchased by one company and get suspicious. After it was all purchased, he combined the land into area owned by Disney. Walt knew a lot about buying maybe just as much as he knew about animation. Although I won't go as far as to say it's something Walt would have done I doubt he would fully disapprove. Disney has yet to ruin any of Marvel's IP's or start any crossover project (to my knowledge) so let's just wait and see.

Quote: Can anyone imagine a HSM comic in Marvel style? I'd cry. No, one sure thing : it won't happen. They've bought Pixar, yet they don't have mixed it with anything else. As far as I know, there isn't any HSM attractions in the Disney parks. They will still be separate entities. I'm only worried about them forgetting their primary activity...

I wonder how Disney is going to work with The Punisher So now Disney owns Marvel and Warner Brothers owns DC, correct?
