Dev smiled, he wanted to be like they were before too. "Okay...no secrets..." Dev said and grinned, sticking his pinky toward her for a 'pinky promise' like they always used to do when they were little. "So...part of the reason I left was because my parents had to...run away for awhile and I had to go with them. And while we were there all three of us got into a car wreck. Mom died instantly and dad died in the hospital, and i almost died myself. But then I went to the hospital and some amazing doctor helped me...so i survived and came back here to live with my uncle." Dev shurgged, totally leaving out the part about how the docotr that helped him was a vampire and he changed Dev into a vampire himself and is now living with him.

Dev smiled and wrapped his arms around her. "Yeah..I barley made it..." he said, remembering the pain of becoming a vampire, he whinced slightly and squeezed Shay a bit tighter. "Yeah my mom always loved you, she would always tell me 'why can't you be a cute little girl like Shay?'" Dev chuckled "I knew she was kidding though..." he said, suddenly greiving for the loss like he never had before.

"Oh yeah! she loved when I hung out with you!" Dev insisted and grinned, pulling away slightly from Shay, feeling the hug die. "So what else has been new?" Dev asked curiously.

"Oh no not you're fish!!" Dev said and chuckled "remember that old dog I used to have? Dawson? I think he's still aroud somewhere! We sold him before we left..." Dev said and laughed, standing up off the bench.

Dev stretched his arms and groaned "I don't know yet!" he said, putting his hands behind his head. "Wanna come?" he asked and flashed her a handsome grin before he took her hand and led her down to the lakes edge.

Dev felt her fingers tighten around his and he couldn't help but smile. "You okay?" he asked as he approached a bridge that went over a small part of the river that ran into the lake. "Oh my gosh! is the sun really setting?" Dev asked, his jaw dropped as he saw the sun just barley over the trees.

Dev leaned against the railing, letting go of Shay's hand in the process. "Wow!" he breathed as he watched the sun set, but there was a sudden cold breeze that ran through and he was suddenly grateful to have his leather jacket.

Dev descreatly scooted closer to Shay and smiled "sure," he said, looking at her more than the sunset. "You cold?" he asked, feeling antoher chilly breeze.
