Fyro landed flat on his head when Roran gnawed through the ropes. His spiked tail hung suspended in the air for a few moments longer before the rest of his body crashed to the floor. Groaning, he reached up and lightly touched both his horns poking from the top of his head, thinking one had broken off. "We WERE trying to catch something for breakfast," he scowled. "Until you came and proabably scared everything away."

Roran ignored that but then said. "You won't find much out here...Back in the area I was in there was something, I caught a rabbit for the alpha's kids, maybe there's something else there."

Reyan narrowed his eyes at Fyro's reply, didn't he find the lack of bird song disturbing or unnatural. When Fyro was suddenly flung into the air, Reyan jumped back and growled defensively, but stopped and smirked when he saw Fyro hanging in the air by a human trap. As Roran appeared, Reyan found he couldn't help but laugh, and was laughing so hard that tears began to stream down his face. Just as he was calming down, Roran freed Fyro, but let him land on his head, which brough about a fresh flood of tears and laughter. 'I'm sorry Fyro' he managed to gasp in between his laughs, 'but surely you could have just gnawed your own way out, and didn't you see the ropes on the ground'. He stopped laughing and wiped his face clean of tears, taking a few deep breaths to reclaim his breath. He shook his head, but pricked his ears when Roran mentioned the Alphas. 'Have you seen them today, and where are their chicks, they would kill us if anything happened to them' he said, his face becoming very serious all of a sudden.
Illis stopped, but didn't look at Ladon. She listened to his words carefully, noting at the sadness in his voice. As she turned to look at him, something caught her eye in the distance behind him. A dark shape was moving slowly, ducking behind trees and keeping to the thicker spots of mist, but there was no doubting the shape. It was a human. But the fact it was here wasn't the most worrying thing, the thing that was scaring her was the fact it seemed to be looking in their direction, and it had one of those long sticks that shot fire and lightning. It raised the stick slowly, pointing it towards them and seeminly taking aim, but not at her. She followed where the stick was pointing, and saw with keen but worried eyes that it was aimed at Ladon's head. Everything slowed down as the human pulled the trigger, and Illis found herself jumping through the air at Ladon. She crashed into him and felt a sharp pain down her back, and let out an agonized cry. She landed on top of Ladon, the explosion of the stick reverbrating in her ears. The human had gone, and Illis rolled off of Ladon. She shot him and angry glare, and for the first time in years she spoke. 'You would be better off dead' was all she said, but she didn't walk away like before.

Kira and Ban were laying in the sun, talking about what they should do. Suddenly, Ban smelled an unfamiliar, yet, unpleasant smell. "Kira," he suddenly added, quickly standing up, "we better get going."

Kira raised an eyebrow, confused. "Why, Ban?" she had to ask. But then she smelled the scent as well and her eyes suddenly bludged out of her head. She sprung up and turned to Skye. "what's happening?..."

Shido and Madoka were suddenly worried about their children. "They just probably strayed off," Madoka replied gently. "Don't act so worried. I bet they're probably with the others by now..." Shido just sighed and nodded with agreement. "You're right," he replied. "But still, I just can't help but get this funny feeling in the pit of my stomach....."

Kira was scared out of her wits, but she had no other choice but to obey Skye and Flare. She nodded her head in understanding, while Ban just glared out into space. "Those stinking humans," he breathed. "Destroying our home...but we have to do something!" Kira gave Ban a harsh glare, telling him to shut up as she spotted the humans walking past them. She didn't like the way they ewre holding their guns and whatnot, but Ban was still anxious to get out and teach them a lesson. Nobody messes with my family. Nobody!

Illis snarled as Ladon tried to explain how he couldn't have avoided the attack. She wasn't going to get into a fight, she just wanted him to leave her alone. She hissed in disagreement when Ladon said she was frightened, lashing her tail angrily. She knew fear was a part of it, but over the years she had learned to form a hard unfeeling shell around her. People had always bullied her, hurt her in ways that scarred her badly, mentally and physically. She had taken her anger and fear and let them boil inside her mind, telling herself that no one was to be trusted and that everyone would try to hurt her. Her snarl dropped slightly as she thought about this, but she found herself frozen all of a sudden as a warm, rough tongue licked her face. She stood, not moving, not breathing, at the sheer shock of having any living thing show any compassion towards her. But slowly, the shock turned to hate, words and thoughts echoed round her head, thoughts that said that he was merely making fun of her, that he was showing no compassion what so ever. 'I said...don't...touch...me' she growled. There was a brief moment when her mind pulled in three directions, one saying stay and talk it through, another saying fight him now, but the third telling her to run, to get away from any fights that may be caused. She made her choice, and ran.

(I'm going to take the humans briefly)

The leader grinned, he had shot a dragon, it wasn't his first though, he had killed many. He glanced behind him at the dragon, it wasn't dead and another had joined it. He swore under his breath, and then ran into the open and let out a fearful war cry. Humans jumped out from every nearby bush, there seemed to be hundreds of them, but he knew they were his 30 finest warriors. 'You know the plan, go' he snapped, speaking a language that was strange and foreign to the dragons, and language that the humans called English. The mass of humans split off into groups, each heading a different way, but all in the same direction, to the deep crater that was the dragons' nest. The leader ran the story of how these frightful creatures came to be in his head, remembering every detail from the elders' stories.
The land flourished, food was everywhere and the forest was green with lush plants. But then the sky turned crimson, the gods were fighting with a great sky serpent by the name of Lati. The sky was stained with the blood of the immortals, but eventually the gods overthrew the serpent. The serpent's mate, Nola, in her grievance, took the scales of her mate and fashioned each one into wings, wings of bone harder than any hoof or horn. Then she stole fire from the gods, and from a certain spot on Earth she built the perfect monster. She built too many though, and dug a great pit that became these monsters' nest. She took all the stone wings, and gave each of her creations two, and put fire deep into the pits of their lungs and hearts, burning away goodness. The gods found out about this, and killed Nola, but they could not destroy her creations. We, the humans, called them the Draken, monsters of fire, and we have been sent to destroy these horrific creations, and rid these lands of their plague.
He cleared his head of the scene of his village gathered around a fire listening to the story, and followed one of the groups up towards the Draken nest.

At the sound of Skye's voice, Ban was the first one out of the small cave, but Kira followed a bit more reluctantly. Ban looked back at his sister in mere shock, but she returned the look like she had just seen a ghost. "...I wanna go home..."

Meanwhile, Shido couldn't take the wait any longer. he was about to go search for his children when he suddenly heard a cry that immediately stopped his heart. Oh no... It has begun! "Madoka!" He turned to his mate, a new determination and a new fear in his eyes. "Get everyone out. As fast as possible. We have to move, now!" And with that, he plundered down into the camp and let out a roar so loud, it could be heard from miles around.
