Buddy was up and after Togo before the other dog had a chance to leave. He may not have looked it, but he could fight and he was pretty strong. Even though Togo was stronger, Buddy gave him a hard shove with his good shoulder that knocked him over. But he did nothing more. This was going to be a good night, and Togo couldn't do anything about it. "Togo," Buddy growled, "if you do anything to Aaron, I guarantee you, you will have every dog in town up against you. Courtesy of me. Watch yourself." With that, he turned and dashed off, clearly running for the joy of it, with the speed Togo didn't have.

Togo growled after Buddy furiosly."Well at least Im not a coward like three legs!" he yeled after the golden retriever.THen he turned around and muttered to himself.

Aaron woke up later, just before dawn and went out. He hoped Dakota wouldn't worry that he left. But he went around town, looking for something to do. The sun barely light up the sky by the time he was passing the dog sled race track. He remember that his mother was a sled dog. Aaron sighed, remembering his mother and he kept walking. As he walked, he brushed against a stone on the edge of the street and re opened the cut to his leg wound. He winced but kept walking, leaving a slight trail of blood in the snow.

Buddy woke up the next morning and went out. Here, it was so safe that any dog could go wherever they wanted and their owners wouldn't worry. He saw a trail of blood in the snow, and leaned down to sniff it. It smelled vaguely of that new dog, Aaron. He ran along it until he came to the three-legged dog, thinking that e had been attacked by Togo. "Aaron!" He barked. Then he noticed that the blood was just from a cut on Aaron's leg. "How are you today?" Buddy asked. He remembered Togo's message. "I saw Togo last night," he said, trying to hide the cut on his shoulder. "And I think you should watch out for yourself. He said that if you're in town next week, he'll show you the meaning of pain. But I told him that we'd defend you, cause the rest of the town likes you."

Aaron heard Buddy when he bent down to sniff the blood. He turned over to look at his new friend, "Thank you Buddy. But I am sure that next week when I meet Togo, I wont need defending." Aaron looked up at the sky, not yet figuring out how he would get Togo. But he knew we would need no help. This was between him and Togo alone. Besides, he needed to talk to Togo one on one. Looking back down he realized he would not yet tell the truth. I must hold until the time is right to tell everyone...if I fail, they will all die. If I succeed...We can lead to a victory He told himself.

Gail saw Buddy and Aaron talking,She pranced up to them."Hello you two!" she barked "Its nearly seven,Where have you been?" she asked.Gail always woke up around 5 O'clock,you could set a clock by the collie.Then she remembered something, "Oh yeah,I saw Togo las night and..." she trailed off,She could tell that Buddy and Aaron already knew "Anyways, He's in a bad mood this morning" she told the.

"You got that right" growled Togo,He completely ignored Aaron and preended the malamute wasnt there.He looked at Buddy "That was a dirty underhand blow lat night" he growled.

"I'll take that as a compliment," Buddy said indignantly. "Since I was defending the dignity of my new friend. Oh, hello, Gail. How are you today?" He asked.

He Turned and started talking to Aaron and Gail, completely ignoring Togo. "We were up awhile ago, but I just ran into Aaron a few minutes ago." Buddy didn't mention how he had found Aaron.

Togo couldnt stand people ignoring him,He stood heavily on Buddys toe accidentaly on purpose.

Gail didnt see this so she talked to Aaron and Buddy "So Hows your morning been?" she asked.Her short fur clung to her body becaause it was really wet."I went for a swim" she explained.

Togo's weight on Buddy's foot was starting to get annoying. Sudden;y it started to hurt. "OW!" He yelped. "Togo, get off me!" He yanked his foot from under Togo's. "What happened?" He asked Togo. "We used to be friends."

He turned to Gail. "Pretty good. Is the water cold?" He asked.

Aaron turned on Togo, suddenly feeling anger. This dog has a destiny to fulfill...and Its my job to make sure we both make it in the end. He snarled, "Togo! Do you enjoy making other dogs feel bad? Obviously you do, or you wouldn't do it. Why do you bully, huh? I bet you were bullied before, yeah? And you decided to bully others am I right?" He spoke boldly to Togo, anger and frustration in his voice. "Do you even feel anything? Do you have any emotions?" His voice grew louder and louder. He could just barely keep himself from lunging for the dogs throat, knowing he couldn't kill Togo. Not that he would if he could. It was that it would ruin everything if he did.

Togo growled at Aaron,The truth was Togo had been bullied by others.He had been new to that town like Aaron was to this one.He'd been insulted for being half blind,just like he was insulting Aaron for having three legs.The truth was Aaron was way too much like himself.He wasnt going to admit it though.He gave aaron a faintly sneering look "Just stay out of my way three legs" he snapped.

GAil glared at Togo before turning to Buddy "Not really,Not as cold as it normally is anyway"

Aaron turned away, "Yah, I'm going to run with my tail between my legs."

Dakota awoke and saw that Aaron had left but his spot was warm. She ran out of the basement and into the sun light. She ran into town, she yawned a little and walked up to Aaron. "Hey you guys." She said to the others.
