This whole thing makes me laugh now. People think its horrible and deadly. It's NOT.

The only people that have died from it is Mexicans. They have poor health care. America doesn't. As far as I know Europe doesn't, either.

And for those who are like "The Swine Flu is good for the economy!! =D" No. You call the pork industry taking a HUGE hit "good for the economy"? Wow, am I sure glad YOU aren't in charge of anything important.

People need to get over their petty fears and educate themselves some. -.-

How many people have died from swine flu? Around 200.

How many people die of normal flu in the US every year? Around 23,000.

This is another media hyped disease that is a cute "WHAT IF" guessing game. Instead of taking it easy and eating chicken noodle soup, we're being told we should be writing out our last will and testament because YOU GONNA DIE.

And I hate it when they use the term "Pandemic." Pandemic means global. And not just two countries, like an entire continent or in the case of the Spanish Influenza of 1918, the entire world.

Epidemic means an outbreak in concentrated areas.

You know what's also a pandemic?

The common cold.

In and of itself, pandemic sounds very destructive, but can be misleading. Epidemic is the word people should watch out for.

I agree on to that, but right now, we are in the pandemic level. Which is currently level 5 that is moderate of this case.

Your being pathetic.

The cold has been around for donkey's years, Swine Flu has been around for.... A few... weeks? Under a month?

There is still worse to come, during the winter months.

You v Top Medical staff and Scientists....

I would go with the second one.

I'm talking about the situation as it stands. I never said people shouldn't be vigilant. It might be a pandemic but it is not an epidemic. The cases are not too numerous around the world. .....Would top medical scientists support unneeded public fear? I'm not going against what they are saying, I'm going against what the media is saying. What I said still stands, though. Based on the definition of pandemic, the cold classifies as one.

As for me being pathetic, I don't think you want to go there. There are a number of past instances I can bring up if you keep on that, so I suggest you quiet your mouth about that now. And check your grammar too. Pathetic is not a tangible object, nor do I own it. If you're going to call someone out on something, you ought to make an attempt to use correct grammar. What you meant to say was "You're/You are pathetic".

I never knew everything had to be perfect, I do attempt, but as I have just seen, you honestly make a rubbish teacher, so I suggest you staying out of that business.

Also, I would also suggest sticking with the same story, rather then editing it slightly. In your post your sounding like you already have decided Swine Flu is harmless, saying Swine Flu is nothing, which in fact includes what it is in the future, unless stated otherwise.

Really, people sound silly going on and on about how bad Swine Flu is. (which, incidentally, has preferred name of "Influenza A" or "Influenza H1N1" because "swine", as tibb said, makes people think it has something to do with pigs - which it doesn't).

It's not something you have to panic about or get all "omgz, someone sneezed! DDD8" (which some people ARE doing T__T ).
Most countries it's in have good health care and have millions of stocked drugs to combat it and not -that- many people have died from it.
Mostly people who didn't know what it was (in Mexico when it broke out), people who are elderly or very young or people who have pre-existing health problems and weak immune systems.

Seriously.
You start to get the symptoms - go see a doctor.
In the meantime, carry tissues with you and wash your hands regularly, which you should do anyway.

Apply reading comprehension please. I never stated nor did I imply that swine flu was harmless. Just that I think the current situation is being overstated. Just because someone thinks something is overstated does not mean they are dismissing possible danger. Also, we cannot determine 100% what will happen in the future. As it stands, it seems as if the swine flu is the subject of overreaction.

No, don't see a Doctor, phone your National Health Hotline (In our case, NHS Direct).

And why not? I would.
Can you really see most people even knowing you're supposed to ring some hotline instead of do what you've always done and just see your doctor?
"Risk of infecting others" is a moot-point aswell. Just ring up your doctor and ask if they can come to your house and tell them why, most are happy to do that.
