Luke rolled cuddled closer to Suki in his sleep, as if somehow sensing the effect those years of being with Mako had on her and trying to comfort her.
Titan smiled at the little pup. "You should be glad you found him, even if you hadn't met me, it would've been a good thing to have the little guy with you." he said. "Friendship is a cure for many things, including a broken spirit."
Jarret shruged. "I don't know." he said. "If you think about it, if we were all the same, 'normal', that'd be just weird so weird is normal and normal is weird."

Suki stared at Titan. "Who said anything about a broken spirit?" she snapped at him. "I;m doing just fine on my own, thank you very much." She turned her head away from him, with her nose in the air.
"Is it strange that I actually understood and agree with that?" Jess said with a smile.

Luke whimpered, frightened by the yelling.
"Settle down." said Titan. "You're scaring the pup." he said. "Fine, deny it all you want but I know you have the same feelings I do because we've been through the same." he said. "But you don't want to talk about it so I won't say a word about it."
"Why shouldn't we be a little crazy?" asked Jarret. "If we were completely sane, we'd be too normal."

The little puppy calmed down. "Its ok." he said and yawned. "I'll get back to sleep easy...I'm really tired." he said, laying his head back on her back. "Goodnight...momma." he said softly, already asleep before finishing the sentence.
Jarret smiled. "Nether have I, like we're meant for each other."

Suki smiled at the pup until the last word. Then, her face completely fell. She looked at the ground. She wasn't a good enough dog to be called a mother.
Jess smiled too. "Yeah, I guess fate knew we'd find each other."

"Let me guess, self doubts?" asked Titan. "That's what I'm talking about." he said. "Mako has you convinced you're not good enough to be a mother." he said. "But that isn't true." he said. "If you weren't cut out to raise this puppy, would you of stopped in the rain and brought him with you?" he said. "Sometimes your subconscious knows what your mind refuses to accept."
"Yeah." said Jarret. "It must of used those mean dogs to bring you here."

"If there were no good in you, why didn't you leave Luke shivering in the rain?" asked Titan. "That's what a dog with no good left in them would've done but you didn't you took him in, probably saved his life." he said. "I felt the exact same way as you did but I saw I was wrong, just like you will." he said. "The fact is, you know what Mako made you, not who you truely are." he said. "The real Suki is the one that adopted Luke, the one that couldn't bare seeing a innocent pup die." he said. "And I assure you, that's the Suki that's going to win out in the end."
Jarret shruged. "Who knows, fate is wierd."

"But I almost did leave him there," Suki said. "I walked right on by without a second glance. I don't know what came over me to go back and get him. But maybe if I had left him there, some other dog would have come and picked him up. Some dog that can give him a home other than the streets." She looked at the ground. "I am not fit to be a mother. I know I;m not. All I can do is wonder the streets. The pup deserves a home."
"Yeah, really wierd," Jess said. "But usually right."

"I'm not going to try to prove it to you, you'll figure it out on your own." he said. "And Luke needs someone to care for him." he said. "I think you need him to." he said. "In ways you'll understand eventually." he said. "But if I tell you what I think, you'll just ignore me and I'll be wasting my breath." he said.
"Though I really don't believe in fate." said Jarret. "I think our actions determine our destiny." he said. "But we're not predestine to a certain thing."
