They are deffinently NOT shallow. Have you heard some of All That Remains's stuff? Atreyu's? I don't think so or you wouldn't even say that. Soulja Boy and Katy Perry don't even come close to those bands.

You sound just like my mom with the whole "teenage angst" deal. Maybe some people need the "shallowness" you refer to or they need a way to get anger out or know that others feel the same way and they are not alone- some music provides that.
