Err.... I used to hide it alot, like I did with the site neopets. It was so hard to hide it from my mom that I was a huge fan of Balto, making it harder and hareder for me to do the things I love. But I slowly started to make things (drawing wolves and huskies, making a miny sled team with string and some toher stuff...) and then my mom got me a balto movie and said I would probably like it.
But than my mom watched the third balto... that changed everything.
After that she really didnt like the Stella thing and all that. She kept asking me why i liked balto, and hse wished that I didnt like it.
So after that, I had to hide the fact that I liked Balto. Though, I still come here today, but never call it by the samle of "Balt" like I used to. Now I have to reafer it as "Lion King Souce." Oh well, lifes not fair, is it?

Personally, it's not something I'd tell the general public about, but if I found out a friend of mine had a similar interest, I'd tell him/her. I dunno... I've wanted to tell my friends about it, but after being mocked incessantly by them for content on my dA page that dealt with things often talked about here (i.e fursonas, wolves, etc.), I decided not to. My Dad sorta knows that I do go there, and he doesn't care a whole lot (which is surprising, since he's got a serious macho-man complex) and my mother knows that I did go on the site, but she isn't aware that I still go there. (She told me, sternly, to "grow up" the last time she saw this site. I guess this is one way of defying parental control, for me.) My friends don't know that I go to this site in particular, but I've referred to discussions here as being on "This one forum I go to."

Unfortunately, I have to now hide all my activity on Balto, and other anthro websites because of my brother and family who have suddenly gotten the idea in their heads that I am a furry. Now, don't get me wrong, I do not hate furries, and do not mind them at all, but I am NOT one myself. I absolutely hate being judged by what I do, especially on my own computer, but it's better to hide it then be teased and called nasty things by your own family for something you like doing.

My family know my Dad incourages me to keep coming here XD He doesn't want me to grow up to fast and start being all "adult-like" and grumpy. I suppose he's right. But I don't tell my friends, things spread to easily. My supposed "best friend" teased me about it so I told her I didn't think best friends tease their friends :/ Gaahh she annoys me. She also said it was childish...

Rebel --> Not to mention myopic. But then again, it's all psychology, really; people, in general (not everyone, but most), tend to look down upon those that they do not believe to be doing things considered normal considering their age/gender/culture.
Let's face it: people our ages just don't usually hold interests in movies like Balto when they're, say, 15 or 16 or older. I can't say why people like to make fun of those that do, but just know that they're seriously missing out on your full personality if they can't see past the fact that you go to a website like this one.
As Nightcrawler (from X-Men) once said, "I pity them. ... Because they cannot see beyond what they see with their eyes."
Although, considering JC's post, I guess going to this site isn't that abnormal. It's only a variation on the apparently common practice of keeping a piece of one's childhood. We do it this way, others do it another.

We do it this way, others do it another. Believe it or not, I've actually begun to like Balto more than from when I was a child. You do have a point though that most do begin losing their original liking towards the Balto movies. Sites like these are enjoyed by people from ages five and up, but mostly within the range of preteens to young adults in their twenties. My liking to this site has grown as well, much more than I expected it would. (Interesting comment on Nightcrawler)
