Balto blinked as he heard Kai. "Kai?" he asked and ran off towards him.
Lena ran to the boiler room and scratched on the door. Dusty let her in, despite the termole Dusty had caused, no one had any hard feelings against her, after all, she didn't know Kodi was taken. LEna ran over to Kodi and buried her face in his fur, crying. She needed to let it out first.
"Why does bad stuff always happen to our family?" Cachen cried. "Why?"
Titan laughed. "You think I'm afraid of a stupid wolf?" he asked. "By the time you're out of that chain, you'll be pregnent with my pups." he said with a sadistic smirk. "Wether you accept me or not." he and rammed into her and put his paw on her windpipe, cutting off the air.

Kai panted, running before skidding to a stop in front of his Grandfather, eyes wide. "She's gone!" he said, breathless. "Someone took Mom!" all his fur was on end, sticking straight up.
Kodi blinked, eyes wide as Lena ran to him and began to cry. He had been talking to Dusty, and he too felt nothing against her, for the simple fact he had wanted to be with her when Katie caught them. "Lena? What-what happened?"
Tai shook her head, eyes shut. "I don't know." she said, defeated. "I'll go watch out for everyone." with a quick nuzzle she slid out the den and tried to barricade the entrance.
Katie gasped, the chain already adding to her difficulty of breath, Titan's paw was another sum. Blood choked out from her mouth in droplets, but glared up at Titan. "And-and, you think I'm scared of YOU?! A...dirty, mangy....DOG?!" she croaked, before gasping out in pain once more. "I've had. Hardship...YOU'LL never know! I will NOT. Have children...to watch. Them. DIE." she stopped speaking, coughing once more as she was choked.

Balto looked shocked. "What?! Who took her?!"
Lena looked up at Kodi, tears dripping down her cheeks. "Someone...someone took...someone took momma!" she said, crying. "They came and...and they knocked us out and...and took her away..."
"Goldie..." said Cachen. "Thanks for coming back with us...I love you." he said, feeling comfort from his love.
Titan kept choking her until she was on the verge of passing out before letting her go. "That should do for now." he said.

Kai shook his head. "I don't know. I smelled a human though, a little while aways form the den. It's only about a day old." he gulped softly. "Another dog came and knocked us out."
Goldie giggled, gently licking Cachen's nose. "Of course...I'd probably be dead or in a pound, if it weren't for you and your family."
Kodi's eyes widened. Not even a day and Katie had gotten into trouble...Mentally he growled inside. "Where's everyone? Have you looked for Fang?" he asked
Katie writhed beneath Titan's paw until he let go. She gasped for breath as she shook the last of her blood from her chin.

Balto nuzzled Kai, trying to comfort him. "Lets go find your dad."
Fang ran in, Dusty had gotten him. "I'm here, Dusty said somethings wrong." he said. "What is it?"
Lena couldn't handle to the sadness and cried into her father's fur. "...Cachen's with Goldie papa...Cachen...he's taking this really hard...so we left him with Goldie...the man said something about Ancourage." she said, misprouncing the word.
Cachen nodded, still upset but feeling better with his girlfriend and sister close by. "We'll get momma back..." he said, then got a serious look, like he'd had during the sirum run. "Those dogs don't know what this familys gotten through togather, compared to some of the things we've been through this is nothing." he said, trying to psych himself up, for this he'd need to be the brave Cachen, not the cry all the time and run and hide Cachen but the Cachen that didn't get scared and would do anything for his momma. He went and got the bandana Jenna had given him and put it on.
Mako walked down with a container of some sort. "Hello mutt."

Kai shook is head. "Lena's already getting Dad and Fang. Cachen, Tai, and Goldie are at the den." he said "I'll get Lena, she looked really upset before she left."
Kodi looked up, his face trying not to betray and shock and fear. "Someone took Katie." at the sound of the word, he listened to Lena. "Can you say that again?"
Goldie smiled as Cachen went and put his bandana on. "I remember that." she said, walking up and nuzzling Cachen.
Katie's head snapped up, backing up defensively as Mako came down into the basement. She didn't like the man's scent at all, and her muzzle wrinkled up in disgust.

"No one can blaim Lena." said Balto. "How are you taking it?"
Fang looked shocked. He took a step back. "Why...how...who did it?"
"A man and a dog took her." said Lena. "They knocked Kai, Lena, and Goldie out and took her, they said the man mentioned Ancourage." she said misprouncing it again.
"Its reminds me to be brave...and boy do I need to be brave rigth now." said Cachen.
Mako injected something into the vain in her neck, it was a chemical that would paralize her muscles temporally, she'd still feel everything, just her muscles would lock up and she wouldn't be able to move.

Kai nodded, looking back up. "I'm ok, I guess. Well, no one can be okay after this, but you know."
Kodi closed his eyes. "Anchorage." he said, ears pinned back. He looked at Fang. "You know what this means?" he asked
Eva smiled, tail wagging in a blur. "You were plenty brave with it last time." she said happily.
Katie looked as Mako injected her. She fell to the ground, no long able to control her muscles. She tried to lift her head and whined lightly in dismay.

"Now please tell me exactly what happened." said Balto. "So I can help more."
"We're going to Anchorage." said Fang. "Oh no!" he said, realizing something. "If its who I think it is...Katie's in deep trouble." he said dismayed.
"Yeah." said Cachen. "That's why I kept it."
Mako waited for it to take effect, she'd still be able to talk and breath, just not move. He took out a knife from the box and put salt on it to make what he was going to do even more painful. "There's somethings you need to know." he said. "One, I can understand animals." he said. "Two, I am a psychopath." he said. "And third is my redeming quielty, I'm a sadist."

Kai nodded. "I can't tell you much, I was the first to black out." he began telling Balto everythign he knew, trying to make it short and sweet. "Then Goldie said something about Uncorage." he said, mispronouncing it as well.
The fear could not be kept back long. Kodi stood, making sure Lena was gently laid on the floor before looking right into Fang's eyes. "What?" he said "ANY leads to Katie will help!"
Goldie nodded, nuzzling Cachen once more. "I know. You're brave to even think about going."
Katie's eyes widened at the sight of the knife. She relaxed a moment as Mako spoke, quirking a brow. "So...you get your sadistic pleasure from hearing AND watching dogs die?" she asked. There were a few sadists in her world, but not many.

"Do you mean Anchorage?" asked Balto.
Fang looked pained by the thought. "...There's this man in Anchorage...another dog told me about...his name is Mako, he...he owns a dog fighting ring...he's a sadistic psycho." he said. "I thought it was just a rumor but...I think this is that man."
"What's...what's a dog fighting ring papa?" asked Lena, never having heard of such a thing.
"I'm going to protect my momma." said Cachen. "Nothing gets between me and momma."
"Pretty much." said Mako relexed. "Don't worry, I'm not going to kill you...if I was going to kill you, I'd drown you." he said and put the knife in Katie's shoulder, not deep enough to seriously hurt her but deep enough to cause agonizing pain.

"I..I think so." said Kai, trying to think about it for a moment.
Kodi's eyes widened in shock, looking back to Lena seriously. "Humans raise dogs to fight, they bring them into a ring. Two dogs go in; one comes out."
Goldie nodded, smiling. "Gosh, I've never met anymore who cared so much about their family. First the antitoxin, now this." she was a bit awed.
Katie looked up in another face of disgust before the knife was stabbed into her shoulder. She clenched her teeth and winced at the stinging pain the salt brought. More then anything else, she willed herself not let him see the pain on her face. Katie relaxed herself, eyes closing as not to betray her agony.

"Lets go get your father, Lena, and Fang." said Balto.
Lena was suddenly over come with worry. "They...they took momma there?" she asked, her voice small and full of sadness. She couldn't take all this happening at once and fainted, falling on her side.
Fang looked shocked. "I'm sorry!" he said quickly. "I...I didn't mean to scare her so badly...I didn't mean to scare her at all." he said regratfully.
"Its how I've been raised." said Cachen. "I care about everyone."
Mako slowly moved the knife through her skin and made and 'M' in her shoulder. He then very slowly brought the bloody knife out and opened Katie's mouth and made her taste her own blood before cleaning the knife off and putting it away. He then got out alcahol and poured it on the wound, he wanting to insure she remained healthy but cause as much pain as possible.

Katie still did not let Mako see her burning pain. She would have wrenched and threw up at the soft, silken taste of her blood, and wondered what was wrong with her to even think about the texture. This human was rubbing off on her quickly. Katie actually laughed, lightly. "This is why..." she murmured, baring her teeth as she tried not to clench them in anguish.
Kodi gasped lightly, nudging Lena with his nose worriedly. "It's alright." he said to Fang, smiling bitterly. "I should have noted that her Mother's so tiny, no human would put her in a ring."
Goldie giggled, nodding. "you've been raised right then." she said, sounding nostalgic.
Kai nodded, swallowing the lump in his throat.

"But...that leaves two other possiblities for way she was taken." said Fang. "...One is he wants to raise wolfdogs...meaning he might try to forcebreed one of his dogs with Katie...and if that isn't the case...he might of...might of wanted her for...practice for his dogs." he said. "The first is more likely."
Balto nodded and got up. "Lets get going."
Cachen nodded. "I know." he said. "I'm glad I was." he said. He started crying again. "Thats why I miss momma so much!"
Mako got a cattle prod out and touched it to Katie's ribs, painfully shocking her.
