(Watch the double posts)

Death sentence?
For a 7 year old?
How profound.

That really isn't a logical solution, nor a logical suggestion.

First off, the death penalty is only to be used on adults - ones that have slaughtered HUMANS like trees in a forest soon to become a parking lot.

The criminal here is a child - a disturbed one at that.

Besides - if killing animals was a crime worthy of such a severe punishment, would all of the butchers and hunters of the world not be dead by now? =|

Look, I'm all for punishing the kid and saving animals and what not, but suggesting the death penalty - even mentioning it in this topic - was a foolish move for your part.

Well said Röckandi

Anyway, when I say they should re-introduce the death sentance, once the kid is old enough he faces that charge, otherwise untill then stick him in a child home.

And as for your other comment, the ONLY reason I would EVER accept hunting is if it is to save your life, or hunting for food. Any other reasons should be literally slit by the throaght(sp) and left in the freezing cold to die.

Conay_White_Star_Line, I have to say you are getting a little out of hand with this. I do happen to like hunting and hope someday to go myself. But I would only do it for food ofcourse. Anyway, I do know some animals need to be hunted to keep the population from getting to big. No matter how much I love animals I can at least see things in a reasonable point of view. If the population of some animals gets to big then they will die of hunger. So hunting is a two way thing. It helps us humans get food ect. and it helps keep the animal from dieing a slow and very sad death.

But as for poatching, that I would except. High population or not. Poaching isn't a good thing.

For pete's sake! No one desurved to die! Wishing that apon someone just mean you are going just as low as they are! The poor kid made a mistake! And I know for a fact that none of you could tell me that you didn't make at least one mistake in you life! Even if it wasn't as bad as the kids mistake. The point is that everyone makes mistakes and all we can do is learn from them! And can any of you tell me what the kid is feeling now? For all we know the kid could be eating himself from the inside out with guilt. I'm glad that kid doesn't know any of you who are being so cruel about this. If he did he could and probly would kill himself! And because of that you all are just as much in the wrong as he was/is. Normaly I wish to keep my cool online, and prevent fights. But I truely hope I made you think about this, and made you feel sorry for yourselves! Most of you are looking at this from a view point filled with anger. I know I can't change your minds, but at least I could lighten up you veiw on the fate of this kid. No matter what he did it's over and done with. And he will never live it down. What about you huh?! What if you where blinded even for only a moment and did something horrible and stupid?. Wouldn't you want people to forgive you and give you another chance?! And don't tell me that you would ever make a mistake like that, I'm tellig you to imagen if that happened. I'm sorry if I'm being cruel about this but more then half of you are going out of line! Mistakes happen and thats that!

Man...you know, all the people in this topic saying "he should be killed!!!" or "bring back the death sentence so he can be executed!!1!" are no better than he is.

Should he be punished? Yes.
Should his parents be tought some harsh lessons? Yes.
Should he receive a lot of psychological councilling? Yes.
Should he be killed? No.

For crying out loud, he's seven years old, I imagine he doesn't even have much of an idea of what he's done let alone how bad it really is. How many of you went into your garden and squashed ants? Or picked up worms and ran around with them or threw at your friend/sibling? Or pulled a cat's tail? Or a dog's ears? Or picked up an animal by it's tail when you were younger?
I'll bet - all of you and why? Because you didn't know any better and the same goes for him. He'll carry that over him his entire life and when he's old enough to properly understand it, he'll feel awfully guilty for it (or should anyway). He shouldn't be jailed for life or put to death over it, just taught that it's wrong and why it's wrong and his parents need to keep a closer eye on him.

Also, try not to get into the hunting debate here...it only causes fights.

Thank You! I've been trying to get that across, but I have to say you put it in far better words.

And Conay_White_Star_Line mistakes could be anything. A mistake is something in your life you wished you didn't do. And what this kid did, that is a mistake. Nothing can change that. What a mistake is does change in another person's veiw. But one thing will remain, and that is that the person would wish the mistake hadn't happened. And even if this kid doesn't realize this mistake for a few years, it is still a mistake. And that will be that.
