There you go. Those you Intend on trying to make digs and Create trouble will obviously Purposely convert your comment into a false one, but that's beyond the point. What im trying to say is that its the manner you type in actually does reflect on what do you mean. Obviously you have to be careful in terming yourself. Which apparently no one either wants to make an effort of seeing the draw backs of a post, or also Purposely post it in that manner to create trouble. So that's the person who's writing it's fault. Choose words more correctly mainly.

Now see. There are ways of typing which I've been trying to explain. "Please can you leave the room, since no one wants to deal with your nonsense. Here you can see the offense in the end of the statement even though it not really harsh. "Can you do this for me?" any offense? nope, but yes it may irritate another person due to repetition, but beyond the point. "Do this for me right now!" obviously an order. Now here's statements related to the sb. "Please, the rules are no sms, can you stop doing it. This is where there is a miss conception correct? the end statement can be misunderstood, but here's my point. why say it? Please don't use sms was good enough. Saying anything additional usually causes the conflict you see. "Please no sms >>" here you can see irritation or "Sarcasm" by the person as stated earlier posts because of a simple >>. Avoid it if you don't want to make a misunderstanding. "Stop Using sms now!!" Yea obviously offensive. "The rules on the sb are no sms so can you please listen to it!. There is offense due to the Exclamation. without it it doesn't sound at all wrong. So you get what i mean. It's the way you state it. If it's clearly stated there isn't any way a person can misinterpret you.

Not you don't get it. You read it your self. Its clear. I don't think any one could misinterpret what i said in those quotes and you know it. Those exact words if used will not cause any problem at all. Only a person who's Intentionally trying to create trouble, will react to the comments I've told you. They do this by saying your trying to act as a mod for a Defense starting a conflict, but thats because of the person. If the person acts like that simply there is a report button. Thats it.

Give the mods a break. I know that the mods have to do their job by moderating the site but even their humans. They can't get every thing you know. Ive seen many times that one mod is taking care of one situation while another wrong act is happening at the same time. Its just the members giving the mods some additional help but apparently you feel that wrong and call them control freaks... which is obviously offensive. but any way. Mods have different timings to come on and they can't stay up all night to moderate the sb and be there 24/7. Yea that's their job, but whats wrong with helping out? It generally looks like you feel every body says no sms just for power. (Yea look who's stereo typing over here...) while their just trying to give the mods a break.

Going down hard? Gheez i didn't know you would be so offensive. but i was trying to lighten up the mood with a joke. I see you didn't get the XDD since that's the point of it. Cutting deeply i was telling them the logic. I see you like picking on certain facts. You know i wasn't. So what are you trying to say here? I wasn't harsh at all and by the way yea that's why i stay on bs to help any thing wrong with that?

It actually seems clear to me that non of this would be an issue if people didn't jump on a member as soon as they type "u" in a comment.

This topic is bordering on a lock now...I'd prefer if it didn't come to that though. ;]

I can't say I agree with some of the phrasing used but JC, GU and others have a very valid point.
Many times I've seen something like GU posted...

Quote:
Person #1: What's up?

Person #2: Oh, not much. At home right now. Haha, I'm actually doing nothing else than chatting on here. What are u up to?

Person #3: Hey! No SMS! You could be banned!

Using "u" IS sms but using it ONCE is not worth attacking them for it. If they use it more than once and KEEP using it, it's fine to point them towards the rules and if they persist - Report them!

SO many times I see something like the quote and suddenly several people all post saying "Don't use sms". I don't count that as a "friendly reminder", that is certainly more of a 'command' and having loads of people say that obviously will make the person feel bad and WORSE is when after that another member will post saying "What's going on now? -.-" and one of the members who said "Don't use sms" will reply saying "Just another noob  ".

That is rude and makes people not only feel bad but feeling like they've been attacked by all the people in the shoutbox and leave.

A FAR better way of "dealing" with it, IF there is no mod around and it doesn't seem like reporting it would be useful would be:

Member1 : Hey guys, how are u doing?

Member2 : Not too bad, thanks. Though using sms is against the site rules ;]

That's a friendly reminder and more than likely that person will say "Cool, oh and sorry ^^' " and it's done with. They stopped spamming and there's nothing for the mods to have to warn anyone about.
NOT when after that's been said several other people ALSO post saying "no sms". There's no need for it and it causes a bad atmosphere.

Side note: Please do not let this descend into flames or it WILL be locked.

All im simply doing JC is simply replying to the topic giving my view point and saying my opinion about the idea. I even asked politely Computer ban is You even saw Draco not having any problem with my post also The point IS to debate if you've forgotten JC. It's anybodies choice to reply or give their opinion and well I've got a view you have yours in this topic. You know it. Also pretty much this could go on for ever views unchanged... I agree with you Jc that Yes you can be misunderstood, but there are ways of changing it and typing clearly is what I'm trying to say.

That's all well and good. Typing clearly can indeed dismiss some misunderstandings. However, not all of them. You pointed out that this argument is opinion based. I have to disagree. Although some of what's been said is opinion, there are facts present here as well. And those facts serve to prove that even apparent politeness in posts can be taken or meant in a different way than was or was not intended.
