Nothing in life is purely an opinion as all opinions base on facts while facts form a truth, and for one thing there can be only one core truth. And in this case, it is that for the movie universe, the cub at the end of the first film is genderless Fluffy/girl Kiara. Those are the facts. The opinion aspect comes in with everyone's personal visions but if the said vision does not meet the facts, such visions should not be claimed as the truth.

Sorry. But the cub at the end of the first film was male, and since Simba's Pride takes place a few years after the first...
And at the end of the first movie, it is Simba, Nala, Timon and Pumbaa who are standing on Pride Rock's promontory. After Simba and Nala nuzzle Rafiki comes up intbetween them holding a cub who has rimmed ears. That cub is male. It has to be.
At the beginning of Simba's Pride, Rafiki is already at Pride Rock, and Simba and Nala approach, Nala with a cub in her mouth that is clearly a little bit darker than the cub in the first movie. Not only that, but Simba and Nala look older than they did in the first.
There's a few years difference.
The way I see it, that cub in the first film was a son, was killed, then in SP, Kiara was born and presented.
No way are they the same.
Also Mufasa and Scar had parents. They are Ahadi and Uru and belong to Disney, not this Alex Simmons guy.

Brown Wolf wrote: Sorry. But the cub at the end of the first film was male, and since Simba's Pride takes place a few years after the first... Calling it Fluffy and making no gender references does not equal male. In the books yes it is a male but no one ever said it was a male in the film. Don't bother bringing the books in, I already know you believe the books and movies are one entity. (Even though it makes no sense at all seeing to that the book universe contradicts itself.) But as for that "Simba's Pride takes place a few years after the first" - that is completely your own interpretation/opinion. No one ever said or even implied that in any official content. As for the ceremony scene's details differing...Doesn't necessarely mean also the cub's gender has to be different. By all means it could be another fermale just as well. But in this case it's just called remake / retroactive continuity while the cub is the same in essence. Broen Wolf wrote: Simba and Nala look older than they did in the first. Again, just your opinion. Most people would say they look just different than in the first film, which is the only real fact about the matter. Brown Wolf wrote: Also Mufasa and Scar had parents. They are Ahadi and Uru and belong to Disney, not this Alex Simmons guy. Lol. No one ever said they ddidn't have parents. They're just not Ahadi and Uru in the movies. Just because they belong to someone, doesn't mean this someone is going to use them everywhere. And they belong to both, Alex Simmons and Disney. A creator never gives up ownership completely. If publishing a story meant that, no one would ever publish anything. Since you are so eager to force Simba and Nala to have a murdered son...You apparently don't think it totally weird and inappropriate that they never spoke so much as half a word about him, and the night after his daughter almost got killed the father dreamt of his own father's death only and not about his son's death at all? IT MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL. Don't say they were in denial. Being in denial means that one refuses to believe something has really happened in which case they would talk about Kopa all the more!!!! Gawddamnit, you Kopa believers drive me nuts. I best get back to my TLK fanfic now to get something more pleasent to think about... -.-

ElChivato --> Believe what you want, and I'll do the same. Geez, you Kiara believers drive me nuts. Not that there's anything really wrong with Kiara. I just believe she wasn't the first cub Simba and Nala had.
Also, I write TLK fanfics for a living. And, out of curiosity, do you enjoy tearing apart what I say and putting in what you believe to be your own gospel? That's a little childish, don't you think? I'm just expressing my opinion and my beliefs in the TLK universe as you are. I believe Kopa existed purely, you don't, so let's agree to disagree.

I do enjoy pointing out the illogicnesses, or incomprehendable phrasings in what you say, yes - in hopes that you'd see them and in the least explain your point of view/means better. Since you chose to leave unanswered my million dollar question about how do you see Kopa's supposed existence fit flawlessly in the way Simba and Nala never talk about him and how they react to the almost-death of their daughter, it can be assumed you can't see logic in what you said and thus close your eyes and pretend it was never questioned. If this is not the case, then please explain. As for "putting in what you believe to be your own gospel", I'm not quite sure what you mean by that but I do enjoy approaching the movies from the official facts point of view and digging into the characters' heads through psychology based on the original film's story which naturally is the sequel film's source (like the director too, said.)

I might ask you the same thing. You might but it's not the same thing. I'm writing non-profit fanfiction (for fun.) That is permitted by Fair Use policy in the copyright law, and thus The Walt Disney Company obviosuly doesn't mind. Whereas you said you're writing fanfiction for living, which means you're making money of it and that is something The Walt Disney Company would mind as in you actually need their permission. Unless you had some other mean with your "writing for living". PS. I don't even see how does writing fanfiction, for living or not, relate to anything in this topic anyway? My getting back to writing mine was an off-topic sidenote to end my post with a less negative note. You made your statement sound as if it relates to the topic and somehow backs up your arguments?

It doesn't, but you brought it up.
When I write, I also write for fun, but it turns out I have a special knack for it and plan to get my works - and changing the names of the canon characters to something original - published one day.
So when I say that I do fanfics in regards to the TLK universe, though some of my works are completely original, it is true, and it is my living.
Saying that I write fanfics was not intended to back up my arugments, not that I need to explain my arguments to you or anyone else - just stating what I believe, nothing more.

I didn't even ask anyone anything about it, so there was no need or provoke for anyone to go on about it. Am I guessing correctly if I assume english isn't your first language? Because usually when people say they do something for living, it means their current job, or basically a way they're currently earning money to pay for living. Apparently you didn't mean that, so perhaps another phrasing would've been more suiting.0

What are you, twelve or something? English is my first language! I'm from the US! Writing TLK-based fanfics IS my current job, and I plan to make some kind of career out of that writing. I have no income, and publishing my works will be my only source.

Brown Wolf wrote: What are you, twelve or something? English is my first language! I'm from the US! Or something. As in, english doesn't come off as your absolutely certainly first language because you've several times in this topic, phrased your sentences in very incomprehansible way which could be about the language not being one's first, and as this site does have a French side, my assumption wasn't that far fetched. Brown Wolf wrote: Writing TLK-based fanfics IS my current job, and I plan to make some kind of career out of that writing. I have no income, and publishing my works will be my only source. Are you contracted to The Walt Disney Company to write stories? Do you have your own publisher? 'Cause if you don't, and especially as you don't have in-come and no published work, if I understood correctly...I'm not sure how much of a job it is and how much of just a thing you do and hope to become your job as in the thing you do for living.
