Well you see,the dog is actually only a domesticated subspecies of the wolf and is therefore capable of hybridization.I mean,not even a month ago I saw a nice woman walking a wolfdog(I asked her the breed).Animals can breed as long they're in the group, in this case the predatory mammal family canidae(wolves,dogs,coyotes,dingos,jackals and foxes),but foxes have more restictions.Genetical note:The entire red wolf population is beleived by some experts to have been created by only hybrization through wolves and coyotes.
if any questions,don't be shy to ask

P.S. i'm truly sorry if this is rude in any way and I normally don't mean to upset anyone,but what was the arguement about?

Because wolves and dogs are the same species.

No, Dogs are Canine, wolves are Lupine, both are part of the Canid family but different "branches".

As far as I know wolf/dog hybrids are fertile in some cases, I don't know for certain though, better to ask someone who knows hybirds better.

They are the same species.

Wolf = Canis Lupis
Dog = Canis Lupis Familiaris

The dog is a subspecies of the wolf, but they're still the same species. -nods at above post-

EDIT: Stupid moment. O_o I can't for the life of me remember if the word is "Lupis" or "Lupus". The more I look at it, the more I'm convinced it's Lupis, so I'll change it. Probably wrong though.

Oh, don't worry Joker. You're not being rude, just stating your opinion.
