Balto would have been in the final stages or almost final stages when TLK came out since they are a year apart so I don't think seeing TLK after it came out would have a lot of influence on it.

That would make sense, since it takes years to produce an animated movie. The story of the underdog (no pun intended) rising above adversity, falling in love, and saving the day is pretty universal. It's the story of Rocky and plenty of other live action movies. When you're talking about an animated movie geared mainly toward children that doesn't leave a lot of room for extra elements so Balto and TLK definitely share a lot in common.

What about Simba's Pride and Balto 2... There are a million similar things I noticed between those two films.. :!:

Very true. They could have definitely gotten inspiration for it from TLK 2 since Balto 2 came out a few years afterwards. TLK 2 was much better though in my opinion. :P

The Lion King is normal but The Lion King 2 is more emotional and The Lion King 1/2 or 3 is more comedy! However, Balto started out as quite emotional and WQ is also like The Lion King 2 more emotional! :!: Sad to say i had not seen WOC yet! But to the truth Balto and TLK plots are almost the same kind of flow, still Balto is better.......

I can't decide which one I like better, out of the first and 2nd one.
It's difficult to choose because they both were really great.

I'm probably an odd one out here, but hey. The only thing I ever really liked about The Lion King was absent from the second one, and relentlessly mocked and laughed at in the third one (that's the only film I've ever Boo'd aloud to.).Yep, I'm talking about the hyenas. I always felt their dilemma was more intrigueing, and went without proper development. They weren't 'bad' at all (despite what basically every other cast member and the movie in general seemed to get across), but really just trying to survive. A primal fault in the film was how the film ran with the pretext that hyenas are incapable of hunting for themselves. Wheras if you knew the first thing about hyenas, you'd know this is a blatant falsehood. More often than not, lions actually steal food from them (In Tanzania back in '92, a group of biologists studying lion and hyena interaction discovered that, in that year, 70% of food consumed by lions was initially killed by hyenas.).
Of course, in my opinion, Disney is always fully content to run with malicious, unjustified ideas of their subjects inherent in western culture. This is particularly evident with wolves. The only time a Disney film ever portrayed them positively was in the Jungle Book. And if you watch that movie, you might notice just how quickly it shoves off all attachments Mowgli had with his foster family. As though the only reason they were in the movie at all was because they were in the book, so some continuity had to be there. But anyway, I'm getting off topic.
Back on the hyenas, I find it funny that Mufasa goes on and on about a balanced circle of life, but no sooner does he finish that, than does he have to go off and make sure those darn hyenas don't try and infringe on his land, where there's actually food to eat. Cause you know, sure the Circle of Life involves a balance of living things, but hyenas don't deserve to be part of it, right? I can't help but feel like it's all a front for a plan to monopolize the predator/prey relationship. Mufasa: The new president of Microsoft! Also gotta love how easily they were dismissed in 2, as well. Apparently they just 'left' the Elephant Graveyard. You'd think if that was so easy to do, they'd just up and do that in the first place, if the lions are going to be such jerkballs to them. Not like (at least, in real life anyway) they need them anyway.

And, I guess I'll get off my soapbox now.. Sorry, when it comes to Disney, TLK and lions in general, I have a lot to rant about.
