Dangerous = Exposure to harm, risk or evil.
Saying wolves are dangerous to people is basically saying that they seek humans because they wish to harm them. A completely untrue statement. NO ANIMAL is dangerous to humans unless it feels threatened or cornered, in which case, it's the human making the animal feel threatened that is the real danger, not the animal itself. Even a 3 inch field mouse will attack if it is cornered; is that to say field mice are dangerous?
Animals aren't dangerous; it's the uneasy feeling they get from humans that make us think that they're dangerous. I don't blame them one bit for feeling that way.

Yeah, I can't think of any animal that's more misunderstood than wolves, which is a shame, because I've never seen a more beautiful or intelligent dog in my life. Here's something I learned that may help people stop putting such a bad rep on wolves: There has never been a recorded non-rabid wolf attack on a human. So basically, the only times so far when someone was attacked/killed by a wolf was because the wolf was rabid. One reason so many animals get a bad rep is probably from movies (ie:Jaws) that portray them as evil creatures. It's pretty foolish how people are able to let something such as a movie or book that portrays non-human creatures as villians control their mind, yet those same people fail to recognize the most dangerous animal of all: the human being

I absolutley adore wolves! ok. A lot of people say that their vicious wild animals, but that's not true at all! The hunters are the vicious ones! Killing them for no reason! Farmers too! They kill them just cuz they killed their stupid cow! I mean, here's an example: How many cows are in one state alone? About a million right? How many wolves are in one state alone? at the most 20! I rest my case...

The things is, many of the people who hate wolves do not actually know that much about them. If they were more educated on the subject, then there would be less fear and ignorance.

Some people do misunderstand wolves, but there are also a lot of people (myself included) that know that they aren't out to get us. While wolves aren't dangerous, they are still wild animals, and play by a different set of rules than us. 99% of the time they will run away from us, but if they feel cornered/trapped, they may try to defend themselves. In short, they are "mostly harmless".
