It says that American Tail was with Universal Studios.

You didn't? It's only one of the first movies directed by Steven Spielberg... although it's been kinda ruined by the universal sequels, like Steet said... I think Universal should just leave some movies the way they are, but I guess they keep thinking they could make more money on sequels, since the movie business, like almost all others, are bent on making money...

I admit I was actually never that big a fan of An American Tail, or its sequels, except for one ("The Mystery of the Night Monster.") But then I only liked it for one canine character, so... :P
It is definitely a cute movie though, I don't hate it or anything, it was just never a favorite.

The American Tail series always bored me. I'd always start watching one of them then go do something else 20 minutes into it. Time to give them a chance.

I love all three films. An American Tail can be enjoyed, if you are in the right mood for it - it's very dark and sad for childrens film. The same goes to The Land Before Time (yep, it's VERY different to its numerous sequels).

I think it's kind of interesting that Balto is the only film in the pack that wasn't made by Don Bluth.

This is a reminder: the pack comes out in less than a month.

BTW, is it going to hit stores, or only be available online?

It doesn't specify. It'll probably only be available online at first, then perhaps it might be released to stores.

I think it will be released in local stores mainly, but I expect little quantities. After all, there are so many packs released, especially in christmas time...

Well guys, stores seem to have it! Click the following link:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp ... ductdetail
->Select Preferred Store Availability. My local one has it in stock!

The following stores have it listed, though you might only be able to get it online:
http://www.fye.com/Animated-Family-Favo ... ewprod.htm
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product. ... id=7679047 ("New in Many Stores")
http://www.target.com/dp/B000V5IP6U/sr= ... ite&page=1

If any of you go to Wal-Mart, FYE, Target, or another location, it'd be appreciated if you found out if they have it in the store!

And of course, they give Balto a crap review. Typical. That's going to make lots of people buy it!
Sarcasm aside, I think that this is a good decision of Universal. Some people will want something to entertain their children, and others might want to revisit several childhood classic at a good price. Finally, Balto is easy to obtain.

They didn't give it that review. They just took it from a media source and placed it on that page.

However, I went to my local Best Buy today to look for it. It was there, but it wasn't in the New Releases section. They put it directly on the Kids and Family section, with no indication that it had just arrived. Yep, next to all of the movies that had been there for months on end. This is not a good sign!

The movies aren't in their respective DVD cases as I assumed. They are all in one DVD case. The picture seen on Universal's website and the store websites is the boxart. The DVD case has a carboard holder around it, which indicates that all 3 movies are Amblin and that the director is Steven Spielberg.

Both the front of the case and the back of the case uses the art from the three movies' regular boxart. It's just slightly rearranged and resized.

Yes, I've already read that one, I think it was one review from 1995. They just copy/pasted it, probably without even reading it, maybe by programmation (why would a store display a negative rating?...)

Well in fact, it's already a good thing to me that you can find it. I thought that it would, as always, be a "very limited" distribution and very hard to find. Maybe the fact that the two other films are more known helped it.
Did anyone buy it, just of curiosity?
