Well, that's understandable, Claymore. The spelling mistakes you speak of - especially being non-English -- those are fine, I'm not saying that "bad RPrs" are the ones who spell bad or don't know proper English... they can't help that, as I'm sure you already know. Claymore wrote: And I saw numbers of RPs which were called RPs just because of the title or the plot no matter how lame. One liners, one sentence posts and so on. That is what I was getting at - RPs that are like that, are the ones that could use some help.

I used to roleplay here. The last rp I was in was with Pirkka_Fin named Quiet Wind where everyone had eventually dropped out with only 2 rpers left. Ended up as "sticky" labeled as "a very good example of quality roleplay". I had to leave for a while and when I got back it was gone after a while. I thought that was very unjust... It was actually interesting and I liked roleplaying in it, I hadn't roleplayed on this site for ages.
True, many people should put more work into what they post, to make it look less like "a chat on whims." Every roleplay becomes what the rpers make it, and if people don't put much thought into what they post the other roleplayers are disappointed or loose interest.
Your example is good, but there have been many. Really depends on the people and how strict the "minimum" or "maximum" rules are.

Interesting- I'm on someone's Best Roleplayer List xO
Anyway to my option of Roleplaying 'round here.
This all goes around with one thing, WITH one and only thing: Romance
This will keep players active, if there is one good chick in the game every male character's head is turned toward the female's action, those who are arrogant from personality will get disliked and almost thrown out of the game- that WAS when I used to play here of course xP.
No, the real idea of roleplaying isn't driven by Romance, but by the plot, god modding happens even that it is forbidden, yes I've roleplayed in a fighting thing which takes HECK lot of time to Cordinate each attack right in 3 Dodge fights, those fights aren't easy, one god like, post modification or then out, if three dodges are used, bam your character is dead, simple as that.
Romance keeps things attractive. But I wish to see romance starting after few things "Courageful act" is one "Protection" and also those that warms the player's character's heart, not only "Charm" and kind words should do the trick. I know that my English isn't the best one, plz I dont' complain that's why you see me posting since I'm learning it. Also I wish to point out, one liner posts are like "Ugh why do I bother" things- I feel no muse on replying on someone's one liner- simply they annoy me. I KNOW that some players are just "Learning to" Roleplay. Also one thing. Each character has its own dark side, like my main character. Boy his shy and quiet type, he stays like that all the time, if there is a evil wolf like a Rip example from Wolf's Rain, Tsume was an arrogant guy, he always snapped at the others and was like "Big deal' aint my problem" it was his character.
If there is a annoying character in the game, it doesn't make that the player is angry at you or anyone, the character just is what it is.
EVERY PLOT I say EVERY PLOT is interesting, it all depends how it goes onward...if 'love' comes too early it ends the muse, the game should go forward all the time, was it unorginal or a familiar. The one who started it, should be respected the one who 'owns' the game works as well as the 'game master' or game 'admin' so he or she has authorized premission to throw blockades, stuff what will slow the pace down to combat or to fights, bad weathers etc. The other players should not do those things, they will distract the plot planned by the game 'admin'
Aye My roleplaying skills really depends from my muse, I can write a big post because I like to add much detail into it, usually my real life characer tends to write everything needed into a small post...which is a sad thing xP Comes from school A math, got to love it.
Secondly, every player should not post useless posts, OOC posts if you are going somewhere, just vanish it is rude I know but what can others do? Just wait. Posting order is also great thing. IF Two players marches forward RPing leaving others behind, sadly those others like CAN NOT take any part of the game anymore so they drop out. Drama can be added when someone's character dies if the player wants to get out of the game to save time...or when someone close Game 'admin's' new character dies or something like that...remember to keep the game going on all the time following the plot, extra comes anyway, and romance should be saved for the end or the middway- even if romance borns the plot should still keep going.
Agrees totally with KodiWolf- Your better than I am in Roleplay skill anyway <3

I completely agree with you, however there are certain factors that might prevent you from writing long posts. I don't really mind that other people do, and I am a heavy RP'er. The fact remains, however, that we writers have some called "muses" which is basically our perception and inspiration to write something. Whenever we have short replies to any RP threads, we call that "Having no muse". Short posts can be just as informative as long posts, and I could write *Wolflux stands up* in a thousand different ways, but a long paragraph of that sentence is pointless. For instance:
Wolflux stands up slowly. His muscles helps him get up, while he reaches for a standing position.
That is still just the same sentence, but longer. But you can make it more informative by adding some verbs.
Wolflux yawns as he stands up. His muscles are struggling to put him into a standing position, because he is still very sleepy. Ultimately, he gets up and peers around, then he walks away and fades into the woods.
The above is what I would consider a correct way to describe something, but if you're just going to say "Wolflux stands up", just say it.
Much to my dismay, however, is how many roleplaying threads there is, which has so much potential, but is dying. This really saddens my heart, and there are several threads I'd like to revive. Alas, I cannot.
I still agree with you, but there are certain times when short posts can't be avoided. For instance, if you have little time, no muse, or similar.
Well thought-out rant, but not without its holes.
As for the webspeak; if you ever see any of it without Ooc:// in front of it, or anything that indicates OOC speech, you should PM me about it, and I'll correct the concerning individual. (remember the link)
This really didn't bring up anything new to me.

Pirkka!!! I didn't think you came here at all, any longer! You obviously still have your RP skills, though! You have a lot of points - "every plot is interesting" You are right... everything will interest at least one other person. I see what you mean when talking about how characters will just disappear - the RPrs will just leave because they don't think the RP is getting anywhere. What should people do it about, it though? DO you have any suggestions? If I were a person who wanted to drop out, I would PM the creator and ask them what was going on, if the RP was still happening... I've done it once before. Yep, you're on my list!! XDDD And I can't have better RP skills than you! No way...! You're a very good RPr! OK, I think I see what you mean Wolflux - you are very right. I do that when I RP... if I don't have much to say, I imagine the character's every move... and make the post more detailed. I suppose all I am really doing is making the post longer, and take more time to read. This really didn't bring up anything new to me. No... I haven't come across anyone who hasn't used the "Ooc://" yet. But I'll let you know if I do.

I voted that I like the Rps Just fine. Wolflux wrote: I completely agree with you, however there are certain factors that might prevent you from writing long posts. Short posts can be just as informative as long posts, and I could write *Wolflux stands up* in a thousand different ways, but a long paragraph of that sentence is pointless. I agree... also, some Rpers are young and new to it, and still dont know how to really put "wolflux stands up" into something better... Ill use myself as an example... I was a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE roleplayer. I used to one sentance roleplay all the time... But the more I learned from others and Rped, the better I got. It didnt take long for me... but everyone has their own speed at learning... and no offence to anyone here... but their are even some adults that cant Rp good... because their just not good at it... but that doesnt mean we should bash them and hate them for it... They Probally enjoy it as much as the advanced Rpers do, thats why you put in Rules.. thats what rules are for, to keep the Rpers you want to Rp with and Put out the ones you dont... these rules for example. * Keep Rping lines over (Any number you prefer) no less unless you run out of Ideas or have no muse. * No mates, No Crushes, No Love. This will Possibly be changed in the future, but in the begining no. * Break these Rules and you will be taken out of the Rp. Remember, this Rp site is for All Age groups, all types of people... we can't say who can and cannot Rp, the only thing we Have the power to do is set rules and limitations. Im sure every person Rps because they Enjoy to... they arent forced to, so the obviously like it. No matter the length, they like to. I see it this way, those who want Advanced Rping, and to keep thing going... is to keep rules. Those who dont really care if its advanced or not, will not set these rules... and the others who agree with join their roleplay... these are my views. My Thoughts. If you agree, im glad. If you dont... then I hate you. J.k... if you dont, then Its fine, everyone sees differently. ^^

Walto Disney wrote: Exactly. I agree with you Kiwa. Everyone has their one speed for understnding things. I did my first RP ever on the forums with Wolflux and a few others a little while ago. I PMed him and asked him how I was doing. Surprisingly he said that I was doing very well and thought that I wasn't new to this. I don't want to sound like I'm bragging but I think that's pretty cool. But seriously :O You made me really think you were an experienced roleplayer ^^ Anyways, Kiwa's right about the encouragement. I'm, however, always a supporter of writing "Ooc:// No muse =/ " whenever I run out of ideas, and it forces me to make a short post, and I think this should become a rule. Anyway, I agree with the OP and Kiwa. Encouragement and teaching is the only thing that will ever teach green roleplayers to become better.

Yes... I was never against any of these things... people's responses are kind of making my post sound different than what I had intended it to be, though... I didn't say there shouldn't be any of those topics that seem so popular (if it's so popular and so much used, apparently people enjoy them!), or that there should only be "good" RPrs... I understand everyone has to learn to RP... I'm not saying they need to try harder. All I was attempting to get at was that the majority of people (and I think this has finally changed... I may get this topic deleted, since it's seeming pretty pointless now) were not trying to get better, that they would just post short stuff, and go on and on and on about things... that apparently worked out fine for most others. It just left some of us wondering where they were getting to. But, frankly, I think this has disappeared after a while... people are trying harder now, I don't see so much of this... so this topic may just disappear soon, since it'll be useless and old news.

i think it is unfair to say that they are people who are not good enough rp ...i mean what if that person didnt have a great imagination or didnt want to make people read through page after page of rp before replying. i respect all rp players whether they are novice or "professional"for some people typing all that rp on keyboard is tiring... but its your opinion and i respect that.. i dont agree with rp who just write two words eg person1: *he rushed through the glade the blood pumping through his veins immensly(spelling?)he looked back quickly* person2: *yawns*

All I can really say here is that I agree with you, Kodi, and I've been saying much the same thing for a good, long while. A couple of years, even. I saw you had a post from Drew up as an example. Would you mind if I added my own right here in this corner, XD.
An excerpt from the rp topic So Wrong, But It Feels So Right:
Blitz began to pace even faster back and forth now, fretting deeply over the whole situation. Could she really be so vain as to think that Slyth was more important than everyone else? Maybe, but was he more important than Saba? That, she couldn't answer. She couldn't answer because she had no idea what the right, or even an acceptable answer to that would be. If she said yes, it would mean that she wasn't a good friend, and was also quite selfish indeed. If she said no, it would mean that she didn't care about Slyth as much as she thought she did. But she knew that that couldn't be the case, because whatever it was she felt, it came from somewhere deep inside, and it was strong.
At the same time, she knew that she was a good friend, or that she intended to be, and she couldn't just abandon Saba like that. It would seem that this little love triangle presented as much of a problem for Blitz as it did for Slyth. And it didn't help that it was made all the worse by other facts surrounding the matter. First, there were Slyth's and Saba's parents. They had no idea that their children were madly in love with each other. That might disappoint them, but Blitz was certain that they would be far more angry if she were to step in and break Saba's heart. And then there was the fact that Saba, Slyth and Max were her only current friends in Nome. Most of the other dogs had shied away from her after she'd gone berserk on Dart. Even her team had begun to distance themselves. If she hurt Saba like that, she'd be alienating one of the few friends she had left.
Any way she turned she faced a horrible outcome and the more she thought about it, the more unbearable the desire to scream became. Finally she collapsed on the ground, her head hitting her paws with a thump. But for once, the racing hybrid wasn't too concerned about her own well-being or anything else at all. Her icy colored eyes gazed out into the forest and she let her mind wander, tired already from her forced, arduous thougts. She thought about the story of Balto's amazing journey to retrieve the Antitoxin when Steele and his team got lost, and of the rest of the details, some that dogs had invented to make it all the more exciting. These thoughts led her back to her own racing team and she sighed deeply, recalling that she'd really fallen behind in her practice time, and probably her speed now. She'd been so distracted lately that she'd forgotten all about it. Ever since Slyth had come along and brought adventure into her life...
And still every thought seemed to retrace its way back to him. Every single blessed thought. In anger, she glared at a squirrel gathering nuts several yards away and growled quietly. The little thing froze in shock, hearing the malicious noise, then quickly skittered up the try, chattering as it went. Wonderful, now she'd been reduced to being annoyed at small, furry creatures because she couldn't be frustrated to anyone else's face. Why had that red half-husky have to come along and complicate her existence? Before she'd met him, all she'd ever wanted to do was race, and be the absolute best at it. For a few moments, she resented him, but that wouldn't last long. Even when she said in her mind that she wished she'd never gone to investigate the stange noises in that hospital room, she knew she was lying. And she would have done it over, if given the chance. Why then, did things have to turn out this way? And why was it so hard to make a choice now?
Now, I'm not saying that that's what every single post should look like, but it's a pretty good example of a quality post. And yes, I understand that different people have very different imaginations, levels of creativity, etc. Some people simply may not want to go into quite that much detail. But the minimum required post length here is two lines (At least about 3 good sentences.) That requirement isn't hard at all to meet.
About the chatspeak, sms, l33tspeak, whatever you want to call it: it's not allowed. Period. Not only is it not allowed, but it can also be highly annoying trying to read: 4 m3ss4g3 1h4t l00ks lyk th1s. th1s s1uff is ttly nawt all0w3d. nawt evry1 ken reed it. Get the picture?
As far as deviating from the specified plotlines, sometimes it's okay, sometimes it isn't. For example, in the rp mentioned above in which I play the character Blitz, we deviated a little bit from the plotline in order to offer more drama and issues for the characters to deal with. We made the more simple problem of two of Balto's children falling in love with each other into a full-blown love triangle. Balto678 and Kodi Girl (the creators of the roleplay) were okay with this because it made the rp much more interesting, not to mention it still stayed mostly in sync with the original plot. Had they not approved of this deviation or had it made the rp go off in a completely opposite direction, then it wouldn't have been okay. In general, try not to deviate from the plot unless you discuss it with the rp's creator(s) and be sure that it still involves the main plot.
Again, this is most of the same stuff I've been saying for a couple of years, but this is a refresher.
