Oh I'd love to come on a trip some time, in a few years, I don't think I'm old enough yet.

I dont know who told you there is an age limit, but theres not. Simply those under Eighteen must be accompanied by a parent. Thats it. There isn't an age limit to who can and cant go.

I'm not sure my parents will be willing to take me from Oklahoma all the way to Ohio, but I'll try to talk them into it.

I'm not going on the trip because I've been to:

Nome - 4 times
Cleveland Museum of Natural History - 2 times
Cleveland Metropolitan Zoo - 1 time, and returning again this summer for the amateur photoshoot competition
Central Park - 2 times


My Tip of the Day:
The Metropolitan Zoo has good rates for group discounts (my last business tour to the Cleveland Zoo received full day admission for $6.00 USD per person). However, expect delays at the zoo, as the bridge that stretches over the Northern Trek (wolves, tigers, bears, et cetera) is being torn down and the area is under construction until expected 2009. Have plenty of time to roam around, as the trolley system runs kinda slow there, probably worse in the summer/winter seasons too...

The Museum of Natural History is real nice too. Beware that the lighting for Balto's exhibit is very poor, so don't expect to get the perfect photograph to cherish without the pain of the reflection from the mahogany door 4 feet to the right or the fern to the right or blasting resulting from refraction of the flash off the exhibit glass. Be sure to visit the gift shop 20 feet away though, as they got nifty limited edition Balto items, but expect to pay about $93.00 for all of it- as it is freakin' expensive...

The trip isn't just about the places we are going. <.< Its about WHOS going. We are going to meet our friends from BaltoSource. Its to get to know each other, and have fun! Some of us only have the friends we know here. I think its time we got to meet each other. But not going is YOUR choice. I dont really think you'll be missed.




We have all day to do things. We will be renting one of their out doors areas to have a lunch and such (such as hot dogs and ham burgers.. depending on what is decided). It doesn't bother me that it will be slow. We'll all have our fun while waiting. ;]

Yep, have to agree with that statement.

...Perhaps I'll drop in one day during the trip down there and give a,"'sup holmes?" or "waddup?" depending on what mood I'm in. Its only a 261 mile drive, after all, and it benefits to be a member status of the Metropolitan Zoo.

You wouldn't be allowed too. ;] Dropping in to say Hi or whatever is like getting a free ride to the trip. Nu - its not allowed. We wont let it, either. We are making it impossible for anyone to get on the trip free (unless we decided to do a contest or raffle or something). We are also making sure only people who are MENT to be there, are there.. which is basically those who PAID to go. ;]

... I have Corporate Membership status through my business I work with... I get into the zoo for FREE anyways, and the Museum & Sheraton Hotel costs are easily covered with an American Express Gold business card. Plus the company's rental car is very nice to drive when traveling. *thumbs high*

I will be 19 by the time the trip starts. So if you need any more adult chaperons, I'll be VERY willing to sign up and help! I've had my share of traveling, but a real Balto trip? Very awesome!

Well, the forms should be ready by... around December/January - but keep your eyes on the look out! ;] I will post here, on the forums (for the trip), and on the trip site. You'll be able to e-mail me by then for the forms and such. And if you wish to sign up for being a chaperon, you can. ;] You'll have a better chance of being one if your one of the first to sign up to be one. Those forms will not be ready until the the regular ones are ready, so you can get them at the same time. ;]

And yes - this is very real! ;D I hope for everything to go smoothly - and so far nothing has really 'caused troubles. :] I am also glad your interested in this. ^^ I'd suggest signing up for the BS trip forums ( http://baltosourcetrip.proboards50.com/index.cgi ) and posting your thoughts and opinions on things. ;D Everyone who signs up for it is appreciated, just for showing their support! Keep up with the trip, and great things could come. :]

Yes, parents tend to be skeptical. Hopefully I will be able to ease their skeptism so their kids can go and enjoy themselves! ^^ And yes, this IS possible. I could put a list of all who is going... but we may not for safety reasons. ;] I'll bring it up to the committee and see what they think.
