Partially because I don't want to as of yet. I don't like planes, I flew on them in the summer last year it was god awful. I fly on them to Ukraine.
I don't like moving about.

As of yet? What does not have you convinced to go? And when it all comes down to it - I dont think it would really matter if you went or not.

I think 20 would be a pretty good turn out, possibly not as rewarding for those who've put this entire thing together but with all the preconceptions these days it'd be cool to get 20 people who liked the idea enough to go.
Also guys, I've had an idea, seeing as this 'trip' does'nt really have anything to do BaltoSource itself but more the movies and the true story how about changing the name from "the BaltoSource trip" to "the Balto fans trip"? that way we could circulate this around the other Balto fan-sites much more easily and Steet already said when I thought up this idea that he did'nt much like it and would'nt be coming anyway, thoughts?

Aww, thanks Maya. XD *hugz*

BaltoSeppala wrote: And your idea is a pretty good one, UK. Seeing as steet wants to distance himself from this, maybe we really shouldn't be using the name of his website on trip documents, communications, and ads (and tee shirts). Still, if he ALLOWS us to, then I don't see a problem there. But he should be the one who says "yea" or "nay" to allowing the "Balto Source" name to be used. The idea to call it the 'BaltoSource Trip' was because it was ment for only the members of BaltoSource to get together and finally met. We attempted to change it to 'The BaltoSource Reuinion' but that failed. I am not really sure the idea of other Balto fans settles to well with me. I only say this, because I know (well, at least over the internet) most of the people who want to go. If suddenly other Balto fans came, it would have to brauden everything. There would be even more information needed to be collected. Suggestions on names (because, sorry UK, but I dont like the 'Balto fans trip'. XDD) would be appreciated then. We could try this and see how it works. But the idea still does not settle well. Seppala wrote: I was discussing the issue of food with UK, and here's what I mentioned to her in PM with regards to food options for this trip:
1. Most hotels and even higher-end motels offer at least a complimentary continental breakfast. It's not much, but I rarely see it not taken advantage of when I travel (and I travel a lot). And others offer a breakfast service or buffet service in their in-house restaurant (if they have one, which only mid-range and high-range hotels will). That covers breakfast. And, if not, there are plenty of chain restaurants in the U.S. (Denny's, Friendly's, Cracker Barrel, etc.) and fast food chains (MacDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, etc.) which offer breakfast. And American diners...lol. And there are some speciality chain "pancake houses" that specialize in breakfast fare. Most of the others I mentioned offer lunch and dinner too...and of course there are plenty of other independent and chain restaurants (in the latter case, there are hundreds. Some of the well-known ones include Friday's, Chili's, Applebee's, Bennigan's, Houlihan's, Pizza Hut, Pizzeria Uno, Ruby Tuesday's, etc.).
2. We have discussed doing a picnic-style lunch at the zoo (Maya said they have an open-air pavilion tent for special events like that). And I do believe we might be able to do something at the museum, and it does offer services like that. Further, I believe we should have at least one event dinner somewhere at some restaurant.
Otherwise, I think everyone would be on their own to do food...or do it in small groups.
Well, having 'dinner' somewhere at a restaurant would make the fees much higher. Especially if it isn't like some of the places here, where I am. Because if it isn't one of those 'all you can eat' buffets (so everyone could get what they want) I do not think it would work.
And as for 'dinner', lunch is more workable. Because at both places we can set up a place and take lunch. Dinner would not really work at either. Because for renting the Museum for the day, that day ends at 17:00 (aka 5:00pm). And I do not know about anyone else, but I would not want to eat my dinner at 3 or 4 in the afternoon. I mean, I can't stand it on the holidays we do it on. We could possibly do a dinner afterwards, but as I said before it would bring up the cost of fees dramtically. I mean, I am trying to keep it so everyone does not have to pay 500$ per person to go, plus a plane ticket. Thats a bit much in my book. So this is why I have avioded the whole 'dinner at a resturant' idea.
(Mmm. A side note. I believe in someplaces 'dinner' is consitered lunch. So I guess it would be 'supper' for some people. ;]...)

BaltoSeppala wrote: Maya, you may misunderstand me slightly on the dinner/supper thing. I don't mean a formal affair like you'd see at a special event. In this case, I meant just everyone getting together at a restaurant, say on the last night, and doing separate checks kind of a thing. That wouldn't have to be built into the cost of the per-person registration cost.
Oh, pardon me then. I see what your saying. But I still think that an all you can eat buffet would work best. Because everyone likes different foods. Like I cant stand chinnese, but a lot of people probably like it. So if we voted on a place to eat, I would be likely to loose, and end up only eating a fortune cookie or something.

Well, no rush. The site isn't even finished yet. When the site is finished, I think it would be more workable to convince parents to let their children go.

Certainly there would be "down time", when you could do whatever you wanted. Yes. Yes it would. So I am not coming XD Not that it really matters, though.
