I agree. By the looks of things, Tod and Copper are still very young, unlike in the end of the original (when they were both grown-up). This is nothing more than a midquel . . . not a sequel. Only sequels deserve whole numbers after the title!
The only thing is . . . if Disney made an actual "Fox and the Hound 2", what exactly would it be about (with exception of the fact that it's obvious that Tod and Vixey would probably have a litter of kits)? Would Tod and Copper meet again and remain really good friends? What hardships would they have to face in the future?
Ah, questions, questions . . . .
*don't mind me; I'm just a big animated movie buff*

But guys I think this movie is going to be a different fox and the hound movie. Not alike the original. What I see…starts from beginning and I don’t see any Amos or Big mama…Vixey. This most be just different movie as fox and the hound. But the baggy is why they had to use the name Fox and the hound 2!!??!??!
Tell you the truth I’m confused.

I see no point in making a sequel for a movie that came out over ten years ago. Unless they are making a remake. As far as I am concerned though, the original is always the best. I would probably rent it though, cause I'm a sucker for animal and/or disney movies.

Lilo and Stitch 2 is really good, especially for a sequel so if you havent seen it then I recomend that you do

Are you sure, Loz? I have heared both good and bad thing about it. Is it better than Stich the movie? In my eyes, Stich the movie was some-what a bad movie so I never took the time to even read the back of this movie.
And for all of you who haven't an idea of what I'm talking about: Stich the movie is the movie that started the show, I'm not talking about the first one.

Yea, I don't like Stitch the movie at all.....but Lilo and Stitch 2 is alot better, especially with the animation and it's alot like the original, unlike other sequels that are all different from the orignal movies and horrible.

Agree, most of the time they make a sequel to a good movie like this they and up destroying it, the end was good if they make a sequel they will add on and chage it! Leave it alone!

Don't shoot me but... I like The Rescuers Down Under more than the original Rescuers personally. Thats not to say I don't like the original of course. I think they both are wonderful pieces of animation... but I like the second more because of the pace. The music also was very good and I got the soundtrack.
Some of the Disney sequels have been good. Like Lion King 2, Rescuers 2. Lady and the Tramp 2 isn't too bad either. I think a sequel can be good if they kept elements from the first, had a high quality, decent music and added something to the plot. I'm not opposed to sequels as long as they provide a decent extension. But I agree there's also a lot that just didn't add anything to the original story and seemed to be a dropdown in quality. And these are just a waste of time.
I do agree completely with you that if someone says not to do continuations of their work, then it should be fully respected. If Walt said this then I think its a shame. I can enjoy what good comes out of these continuations but I do agree its better left alone if there was a wish from the creator for that to be so.
I love foxes so Fox and the Hound is a good film for me. Although its so tragic and I prefer happy stories, its just so touching. I think I may of caught it on a cinema re-release when I was a kid which was great.
I think this sequel adds nothing to the original story.... It can hardly be called a sequel film at all, more like a mini-sidestory if what your descriptions of the plot is pretty much as far as it goes.... And I think they look a little different (would have to see more to be sure). I might see it anyway since I love foxes but I don't hold much hope for it.
I don't see any room for a proper addition to this film anyway....

Hey, I saw a preview of the Fox and the Hound 2, and it turns out that Copper is trying to be a singer with this group of dogs that are kinda like bluegrass singers. Todd gets upset that Copper isn't playing with him anymore. He tells him to chose between him or the band, so the band tries to help glue the broken friendship back together.
It isn't coming out untill winter time this year though. I guess I'd like to see it just because I'm curious to see if it'll be good or not, and I like the origenal. I can say that the animation will be really good, though, just by seeing the preview at WalMart of all places!

Yep, we have to wait until the end of the year to see a predictable sequel (or should I call it midquel, because I see no sequel-stuff in it). The animation is way too colorful for a continuation of such a sad, depressing movie.
OMG, it scares me.
And the voices are close (for Tod and Copper), but they sound too high-pitched IMO.
