The last day is April 17 . . . .
But it's not the 70th anniversary (yet). Bambi was released in 1942.

I've seen part of it at a store. It's actually kind of cute, but it doesn't make sense because Bambi wasn't with his father when he was little... I think? I'm not sure...there are alot of confuzzling parts..

Well . . . . *possible spoilers if you haven't seen the first one*
The only reason he was with his father was because his mother was killed by a hunter. Usually with deer, only the doe raises the fawns; I guess since the original left this big gap in between when Bambi first followed his father and when he was all grown. Pretty much, the "sequel" is the missing link of the original film.
If your memories are a bit fuzzy, watch the first movie before watching Bambi 2. And don't forget the Kleenex.

Because sequels are great . . . . ^__^;
At least it really shows a powerful bond between a father and his son(almost like Balto and Kodi's bond in WoC, but much stronger IMO). And sticks to the original story . . . . and hardly any songs (no singing animals here) . . . and the graphics . . . *eee* So good.

Ok, I'll be perfectly honast abot the film. I did like it alot for a sequel/midquel. I think they did an excelent job with the voices and animation, and the only thing wrong with it is that the story wasn't really needed. I think the should have left Bambi alone, because Walt Disney would never have given it a sequel at all. In fact, he never made any sequels at all when he was alive, did he?
I liked the music for the most part, like the title song, I liked Bambi's father, and I liked Ronno's apperence. I guess the only thing they did wrong with it was the end part to it, where Bambi got knocked out. We all knew he wasn't dead.

I bought it and I really loved it too. It actually wasn't bad for a Disney sequal.

You may be surprised to hear this, SimbasGuard, but Walt Disney made sequels.
They were live-action films of course. He didn't like the thought of animated sequels (which kind of makes sense), and yet his live-action ones weren't the best in the world (Hmm, this sounds familiar).
Odd, ne?
Kelev: I agree. I liked it too, but now that I think about it, it could have used a better story . . . or no sequel at all. I mean, if Walt Disney wanted the time when Bambi was with his father in the original, he would have put it in.
The music was pretty (better than most DTV sequels), the animation was awesome (but not perfect), and the ending seems to make no sense.
**SPOILER** (highlight this space to read) If the ending took place in spring, wouldn't Bambi be a bit . . . bigger? Sure, he now had earned his antlers, but he goes crazy in love in the springtime of the original, meaning he would have been a year old. Yes, I agree: Of course he wasn't dead. There wouldn't be a second part to Bambi if he had died . . . .**endSPOILER**
Plus, the addition of Ronno was a good touch, especially if you knew that Ronno was the other buck that Bambi fought with over Faline in the first movie. Heh, irony eh?

I forgot about Savage Sam(Allthought I've never seen It). I also liked the fact that Ronno was in this movie It gives more depth to when He and Bambi fight as Adults.
Yeah. I don't think Ronno was named in the original (I read it in the Bambi storybooks, where he was named . . . Thanks to Faline).
There were other live-action sequels that he has made, but there's a section for those. hee.
