Yes probably, I guess he´s very busy at the moment. He mostly updates the site on weekends.

I thought so! Also, two questions for you: What program do you use? And do you think that uploading a "Finale" program's music would work? I am using a free download trial of Finale, it's pretty good... but the full version is WAY better. Would those files be able to be uploaded, and heard? I don't know how you would upload a file like that so that the "viewer" would hear the music, not see the music page.

I know Finale, but I didn´t use it yet. I mostly recomment equipment which is used in Hollywood. So I bought Miroslav Philharmonic, which is still affordable. To list some of the best, award winning orchestra plug-ins...

East West Symphonic Library (Gold Edition) - 599,- $
Miroslav Philharmonik (full)- 599,- $
Vienna Symphonic Orchestra Library (Full) - 3499,- $

I´d seriously recomment Vienna Symphonic since you can really fake a true orchestra with it, but it´s just too expensive. Philharmonik (which I´m using) is a great choice as well. I don´t know about the build in instruments of finale, but I know that it´s always better to use a VST plug-in when it comes to realism.

OK, thanks for the information! Those prices are extremely high for me... I'll probably give it a few years, and play around in the Finale music program, before getting something that is REALLY good. But I will paste your text in a document, and save it, so I can search and have a look, properly. I am not good with compositions yet to get anything really good... I am still just learning to work with violin, viola and cello. And I am noodling around with the other instruments, but it'll take quite some time. Anyway, thanks again! I'll have a look, and hopefully I can upload the files to someplace, and get people's opinions.

What file form do you upload your as onto the sites so that people hear the music? You pasted a link, earlier in this thread, where we can upload our sound files, but what format will it take, so that the listeners can hear it?

196 Kbits is usually a good compromise between quality and size.

Yes, you really need to be sure what you´re doing before you´re going to buy an expensive program like that. I´d do it again, anytime. Because you really get high-quality stuff. The rest is up to your qualities

And the format should be .mp3 (128 - 256 Kbit/s) I suppose. A .wav file is mostly ten times larger and it would take forever to download that :P

So if I saved the program's accomplishments as .wav, it should work? I would try it, but I need to know first, so I can get permission. ;)

WEll... I have just one question...

Only ORCHESTRAL music will be accepted. (this includes classical music), musics that should have some similarity to the film soundtrack. Songs are accepted as long as the music is orchestral.

So... lemme put it this way: Will be acepted song with lyrics? Because for me Orchestral music = music without lyrics. And that's the point. Thanks for helping.

No idea... I still think that we should allow at least a few genres more. The important thing would just be that it had to be somewhat releatabe to Balto/TLK, with a certain quality level. Let´s see what the boss says.

I mean... will be accepted f.e. traditional with rewritten lyrics in Balto style, slightly changed melody and so on? Because accepting just orchestral music would make one man's show from this section xD
Well, I would think Orchestral would be the only thing allowed, besides a few orchestral plus lyrics... this is a fan site, and we should be posting film score-like music, not that rock stuff that everyone listens to, but is not used in films. (And I think proffesional musicians need more support anyway! )

I agree, but it's difficult to put that into a rule. That's why I thought about allowing only orchestral music.
But that's a problem : if someone would want to make, for example, a techno remix for "heritage of the wolf", shouldn't it be accepted?
Should I already make an exception on the type of music, for remakes/remixes?

About lyrics, it's mentionned in the rules, I allow songs as long as it's orchestral music. (we can consider "reach for the light" as an orchestral music with lyrics)

Well... with restrictions it will be one man show...

That's why I'm considering adding exceptions to the rules. But without any restriction, you wouldn't want the site to be crowded with anything and nothing.

please, is anybody here able to delete my fan music gallery?

You don't have to delete it, it won't appear on the site until you send a music and you may wish to do so later on.
