My Mom says that only certain brands that you can get at a logal store were infected, because they lower the quality so they can make more. I'm NOT worried about my pets because I feed them Science Diet. A pet food brand that you can only get at farm supply and pet stores; obviously a higher quality.
Don't let the "high quality" brand fool you. Iams was SUPPOSED to be high quality, yet it's on the list. In a case like this, it's good to remain suspicious.
Science Diet is actually worse quality then Iams, like I said, you might as well just buy no-name.
Science Diet and Iams are ripping you off, people. You pay about the same amount for my dogs food. It's $65 for a 33 pound bag, and it lasts about 2 months. Iams & Science Diet are about $55 for a 40 pound bag and lasts almost half as long.. Look at the ingredients
This is my dogs food:
Turkey, Chicken, Turkey Meal, Chicken Meal, Potatoes, Herring Meal, Chicken Fat, Natural Flavors, Egg, Garlic, Apples, Carrots, Tomatoes, Cottage Cheese, Alfalfa Sprouts, Dried Chicory Root, Taurine, Lecithin, Rosemary Extract, Vitamins/Minerals, Viable Naturally Occurring Microorganisms
This is
Science Diet:Ground Whole Grain Corn, Chicken By-Product Meal, Corn Gluten Meal, Dried Beet Pulp, Chicken Liver Flavor, Animal Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Fish Oil, Flaxseed, Soybean Oil, Iodized Salt, Potassium Chloride, L-Lysine, vitamins (L-ascorbyl-2-polyphosphate (source of vitamin C), Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin A Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Vitamin D3 Supplement), Choline Chloride, Vitamin E Supplement, L-Tryptophan, minerals (Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Copper Sulfate, Manganous Oxide, Calcium Iodate, Sodium Selenite), preserved with Mixed Tocopherols and Citric Acid, L-Carnitine, Calcium Carbonate, Beta-Carotene, Rosemary Extract.
and this is
Iams:Chicken, Corn Meal, Ground Grain Sorghum, Chicken By-Product Meal, Ground Whole Grain Barley, Dried Beet Pulp (sugar removed), Dried Egg Product, Natural Chicken Flavor, Chicken Fat (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of vitamin E, and Citric Acid), Brewers Dried Yeast, Vitamins and Minerals.
Yeah, chicken is the first ingredient, but once they remove the water it only equals 20% of the total, so it's likely that it shouldn't be placed that far up the list.
Beet Pulp and Dried Egg Product are nutritionless fillers.
They use by-products and un-named meat sources. (ie. Meat meal, Animal fat) and are almost made up of only grains, which are hard for dogs to digest..
Now tell me that's high-quality

Well, there you have it! Everyone's precious 'Science Diet' is filled with crap I can't even pronounce XD Kudos for the research, Outlaw
