I do agree on some of the films rating's that should be changed but the most type of damage inflicting cartoons comes from mostly anime. I remember seeing things like this on tv as a child but it had never really affected me. but then of corse when I see some thing like the good guy being killed by the bad guy I would think oh thats a bunch of bull crap but then this also effects others. Also theirs the fact that different things affect different people

rein and stimpy disturbed me - one time I was watching it on TV not on the internet and they had babies and one of them was sucking his private area.

Animated cartoon films aren't really disturbing to me. I'm sorry but it's because of people complaining about these 'scary' movies that are classified as kid films that create movies like Cinderella 2&3, Fox and the Hound 2, Brother Bear 2, and some other lame stuff that they classify as 'fun for the whole family!'. Again, I apologize, but that's really how it turns up. Plus, you need to know when these movies were published, like the Grimms Fairy Tales; they're children stories and they contain blood and gore in it and yet it was made for children. A few hundred years ago stuff like the Grimms Fairy Tales were for kids because children were surrounded by things worse than the stuff in the stories. Yes I agree, some scenes from Watership Down were a bit creepy, but you get used to it after watching it for a while. Kids these days are too protected. I'm not saying you should show kids a picture of some one being mauled or cut up; I'm saying that you should let them watch the FIRST Land Before Time movie and Watership Down and All Dogs go to Heaven and Princess Mononoke so they get used to the idea that violence is REAL. I'm not saying that they shouldn't watch all those little kiddy shows because they're too soft, no, no, no, it's perfectly alright; I'm just sayin' that you should throw in some movies that have some blood in it so they can understand that it's there.
And so what if they get nightmares? Yeah I know, nightmares are no fun, but they get over it. Besides they're gonna want to watch these 'disturbing' movies when they're older, so why not show it to 'em when they'll barely remember the characters' names? Heck, I watched American Werewolf in Paris when I was 5 years old and I had no nightmares. My parents told me to close my eyes at the naked parts (which is perfectly normal and I recommend doing that to kids if the body parts aren't covered up or if it's a sex scene) and I did.
But if you think that kids shouldn't watch a movie that you deam 'disturbing' then don't let your own kid or little cousin/brother/sister watch it if you don't want them to see it.
But yes, I do agree that Ren and Stimpy did have its gross-out moments.
Alright, that's all from me. I did not mean to offend anybody, but that's life and everyone has their own opinions; that was simply my really long opinion. lol

I think that alot of people have missed my point here. My point was not to indicate things that were "scary". There is absolutly nothing frightening about Bambi or the Lion King in any way, shape, or form. What I was attempting to refer to, way back when I started this, was things that I found "disturbing", in other words, things that felt odd or out of place for children's movies. South Park is not a children's show. Violent, bloody, decapitation-fest anime are not children's shows. Yes, these things are strange and violent, but for my money, they aren't as "disturbing" simply because their inteded audience is not ages 3-9. I mean, look at All Dogs Go To Heaven. There are some pretty heavy concepts to deal with in that movie: things like contract killing, mafia gambling lords, child exploitation, voodoo, death. I mean, if you had live actors doing this, you'd end up with a PG-13 at least. But because it was dogs and they sing once in a while, we got a G. That's heavy man. There's some disturbing stuff there, and it's still a good flick.

Well, this doesn't count in animation but its a kid's movie so:
In The movie Mouse Hunt the two men were going to get a cat to kill the mouse and this girl was walking out of the pound screeming. The mother made the girl get rid of the kitten. Right infront of the screen you saw the people take the kitten into a room and gass him. I was like: ZOMG &%$@ YOU!!! XD. And also in Mouse Hunt when the two men got the cat, the cat chased the mouse into a dumm waiter and the cat's wait broke it and the cat went flying down it and you heard a splatter. I was then again like: O Em GEE!! Why'd you do that you @#&%er! XD (sorry for language but yeah tis what I said. And it is covered so Happy Day!) XD
