Balto: Why what wrong with it? Do you really not know? o.0 War is not something someone would make a petition about. We just want to SUGGEST something to Universal, not make a huge big deal about it like the word 'war' implies. You might want to look up the definiton of that word next time.
Agreed, Tibb.
Remember, balto~claw, that a petition is not meant to put the petitionee (the one you're sending the petition to) on the defensive, or make him (or her) hostile to the petition and its goals. It is meant to show an abiding interest and desire, in the signers of the petition, to see the stated desire or request come to pass.
"War" is a very poor word to use. Diplomatic wordcraft can make or break a petition very quickly.

i dont see the point in signing a petition if they never will read it; sending notes is better.

I agree let's try a new petition because look at The land before time the first film has an anniversery edition dvd and we should at least try to get a Balto special edition dvd out there

I think that a Petition for a Special Edition DVD will be needed... and it's a good idea. Though you did point out that the recievers may just say, "Oh it's those Balto people again," it's worth a shot. What have we to lose?

Quote: i dont see the point in signing a petition if they never will read it But they did read the previous one. Quote: I also think you would be the best person to write the petition. Your writing ability would be perfect in this case, in my opinion.
For now, I haven't decided. It will depend on if I will manage to write something enough satisfying.
Now, what we need is ARGUMENTS. We need to convince them that it will be a good thing to do, that they will earn money from it. That's probably the most difficult task. We need to put ourselves from their sides, not ours.
I will think and post the arguments I've found. You can of course, do the same.

You'll also need to remind them to advertise better this time, because even if they do decide on making a special edition DVD it won't get any sales if no one knows about it...

This is very important! I didn't even know that Balto 3 was released until I saw a small ad inside of another DVD. More advertising would be a big sales booster.

I will think and post the arguments I've found. You can of course, do the same.
I have an argument:
There are actually people that are looking for Balto!
(the movie . . . the original one, not the sequels - which I have still seen on rare occasions)
(No joking, it's true!)
At the supermarket that I work at, we sell DVDs (some animated ones, but they're early 1990s stuff - some are older than that, but not many of them are recent), and I have remembered a couple of times in which some of my customers have mentioned Balto!
Memory #1: Once, this little kid (about 8 to 10 years old) was looking at the DVD display, looking for his favorite movie. I curiously asked him, "Well, what is your favorite movie?" and he clearly answered (to my surprise), "I'm looking for the movie, Balto . . . I really like that movie a lot!" (Okay, it wasn't his exact words, but it was close to what he meant . . .) Of course, this leads to a brief conversation about it, but unfortunately, we didn't sell it at our store, and he soon left with his parent after they paid for their other groceries.
In other words, this proves that thanks to the TV presentations of the Balto films (even if they are on the Disney Channel/Toon Disney/whatever and accidentally considered as Disney features by most younger fans/viewers/newbies/whatever) is causing the younger generation (as in today's tweens, teens, and younger audiences) to get interested in the films and they too want to add it to their DVD collections. Actually, the premiere of WoC three years ago (on Cartoon Network) made me want to buy all of the films so that I could watch them whenever I want to! (I agree, they still needed to post more ads and commercials, like when Balto was first released in theaters - I remembered seeing tons of trailers for it on TV, and that got me hooked to Balto in the first place. Then I got the VHS and started to spread my fandom (although at the time, I didn't realize I was a fan; I just liked the movie and I drew Balto stuff all the time - I was in elementary school) to friends, family (mainly cousins), and anyone else who liked it.)
See, Universal? It works!
The fanbase is growing, thanks to the enemy (AKA Disney and their networks - Now if only they would show Balto on ABC in the wintertime . . . that would be sweet! But I doubt it . . .), and they (Universal) probably doesn't realize how interested we (the Balto fans) are in staying devoted to the series of our favorite wolfdog-based-on-an-actual-heroic-husky.
Thus leading to my second, and final, story:
Memory #2: I was randomly talking to a customer (about my age or a bit younger - somewhere among the late teens - early twenties) and we started going into animated movies. She mentioned something about the movie "Balto", and, of course, I spazzed. She had no idea that there were sequels for it, so I told her to check them out. Then she left and I felt good knowing that I had spread the word that Balto sequels did exist (and that Balto is not dead . . . well, the real dog is, but his spirit (thanks to the movies) still does! Hurrah.).
I think I said everything in the memory that was necessary to be said. ^__^
So, that's my thoughts and arguments on the subject. If Universal did make a SE Balto DVD, I would definitely buy it (as long as it not too kiddy - maybe Universal needs to take some SE lessons with whoever develops the ideas for Disney's recent Platinum Edition DVDs (like the recent Lady and the Tramp one, for example: Commentaries would be awesome, maybe some character sheets, deleted scenes, making of segments, etc., etc. . . . you get the idea.). Yes, yes, yes.
And Steet: If you decide to make a new petition, it would be an honor to sign it (and even spread the word about the petition to my online friends, non-online friends, and total strangers that also like the Balto movies). May we be successful this go around. *crosses fingers*

Well, by arguments, I meant one sentence by argument...This is a bit long and I don't think they will take the time to read all this. But I see where you're coming to.
