[Balto, Complete] So wrong, but it feels so right [Part 1]

"Kodi?" Blitz asked with the puzzled expression on her maw once more. She had heard of Balto's son, the mail dog and exchanged a few words with him at a time or two, but she didn't know just what Slyth meant. "What do you mean 'It's Kodi'? I mean, yeah I've spoken to him once or twice, but usually he was busy and had to get back to the mail run whenever I did." She pondered over his words for a while, rolling them around in her head, trying to find possibly where they fit into how he could recognize her, but having no success whatsoever.

Chuckling slightly at her confusion, "im not much for running mail but at one time when me and kodi were younger I wanted to get on the mail team. He did too. So we tried out together. Remember how we had to try out to get on the team. That race. Well you were there too. You tripped me" He explained tilting his head some.

Blitz listened carefully, trying to remember the race he spoke of, the memories sifting through her mind slowly. Images of the race day, the morning sunshine, the soft new layer of snow on the permafrosted ground, the other dogs gathered around the starting line and the mushers crowded along the makeshift track, gossiping about which dogs had the best lineage. She slowly nodded as they came back to her, but she never recalled tripping him, or anyone for that matter during the race. The only thing she remembered from the race itself was the desperate urge to run faster, to keep up with the red and white husky in front. She shook the reverie from herself and then looked back to Slyth. "I remember the race, and that Kodi was in front the whole way, but I don't remember tripping anybody...maybe I'm mistaken though..."

Slyth sat down? "no?" He asked. Frowning he thought back to the memory. He could remember standing at the start line with the group of dogs. A black and gray dog stood beside him on his right. Kodi on his left. A gunshot that signaled the start. He and the other dogs took off. Pushing themselves hard. Slyth was able to keep up for awhile but pushed himself harder. Next thing he could remember was falling to the ground. He'd felt somthing hit his leg and he tripped. looking up from the ground he saw the gray and black dog looking back at him as she ran.

"Are you sure you don't remember? I might be wrong about the tripping though"

Storm body was weak and he could barely stand and he felt so sick in his stomach. Tears rolled down his eys as the he felt like his lungs were on fire.

Saba yippedi n fear, her body trebling as she nuzzled Storm and put him on her back, she lickedh is cheek and started walking for the hospital.

Storms sight was getting fuzzy and he tried to stay awake but it was hard and he wimpered in pain.

Saba let a tear fall down her cheek, she hated seeing Storm in som uch pain. She nuzzled him "Shhhh, please Storm, rest now, I'll get you osme help, and then, it own't be so hard to breathe, okay?" she asked and licked hisn ose.

max woke up to a feeling that something was wrong so he started to look around the town and when he got to the hospel he saw Saba and Storm so he ran over and said Saba is everything alright then he looked at
Storm in pain so he said sadly whats wrong with Storm!!!!!!!!

"I definitely remember the race now." The visions of all the dogs running together were a little blurry now, but as she thought over it more, they became slowly clearer and clearer. She shook her head. "But no, I don't recall tripping anyone on purpose. Maybe I kicked back hard and hit you by accident. I'm sorry."

She grinned appologetically, but the time for their socialization seemed to have ended as a female husky with storm on her back and another male husky entered the hospital. Their voices in the hallway made her ears perk up instantly and she poked her head out to see them all congregated near their door. She waved them over to Storm's first room with her paw and said, "In here, this is where he was earlier. His big brother Slyth is here." She nodded to indicate Slyth, knowing for sure that he and Storm were related, but had no way of knowing that Saba and Max were also their siblings.
