Atticus broke the kiss and smiled softly, he touched his nose to hers. "Heather, I love you." he said, this time he absolutely meant it, he knew he said it and he wanted her to know how much she meant to him.

"I love you, too." Heather said softly. She smiled after the words, but then felt the memory of Tommy wash over her and she winced.

Atticus saw her wince and he stood up slowly, extending his hand to help her up. "C'mon, you look tired. You need to get some rest." He wasn't going to sleep yet, and he assumed she wouldn't care about that though.

Heather took his hand and nodded, "Yeah, i'm tired." She murmmered standing.

Atticus led her to the bed room and let her go lay down, before he turned to go back to the living room. He assumed she wouldn't mind being alone for awhile, if she was just gong to sleep.

Heather watched him walk out of the room with concerned eyes. She pulled the covers a little tighter of her head and tried to close her eyes to get some sleep. But every times she closed her eyes, the image of Tommy swept in front of her and she snapped awake.

Atticus stayed up, only and hour or so longer, then he went back to bedroom. He sat down on the edge of the bed for a minute, running his hands through his hair. Then he gave a sigh and laid down next to Heather. He realized she was still awake and he wrapped his arms around her, "Can't sleep?" he asked softly.

Atticus pulled her close and kissed her cheek "I'll stay up with ya'." he offered gently.

He nodded "it's not problem." he assured, hugging her closer to him, in a protective way.

Heather snuggled into Atticus's chest, but she didn't feel safe. She felt violated. Heather still shivered, but the tears had stopped.
"Atticus...Why would he do that to me?" Heather asked numbly. She was reffering to Tommy, thinking of his name was too much, so saying his name was out of he question.

Atticus didn't reply at first, he stared at the wall then he sighed, he could tell that she didn't want to hear his name so Atticus said: "He's the only member of the gang... who doesn't care about Ghost... he just hates ME..." Atticus released her from his arms and lifted his left arm, showing her pales scars that covered the underside of his arm. "He would win over girls to take advantage of them... so I was assigned to the case and I had to shoot him, when I just became a cop. We got into a fight after he took this girl hostage, he had a knife... and he didn't know I had a gun... and I shot him... it might be... you where just another victim... or it might be my fault... he might've hurt you to get back at me..." Atticus said softly, blinking away tears as he looked back at her.

Heather blinked and nodded, "Will you teach me how to fight?" She asked abruptly.

Atticus looked at her quickly and smiled soflty, then he rolled over onto his side so he was facing her. "Sure Heather, I'll teach you how to fight."
