Shay ran their odd, almost charge-like cry through her mind; For showers! For eyeliner! For coffee! She couldn't help but laugh a little.

Shay noticed, and worry glazed her blue eyes. "Viktor!" she called out, rushing to his side. His face was pale, and he was clutching his skull. Headache, she thought grimly. What was wrong with him?

"Forget a shower, we need a doctor," Shay murmured worriedly. She grasped his hand, and frowned. She pressed her other hand against his forehead - it felt like it was on fire. "Zane, can you carry him?'

Shay felt herself go pale, but ignored the sick feeling of dread that pounded against her mind. He should be fine, she assured herself. If....she could find a doctor. Which was was civilization? With her weaker human senses, she was unable to tell. She would have to go animal.

"Zane, I have to lose control," she said urgently. "Otherwise it could take us hours to find a town or city. "Help me be human when I find it, alright?" Without waiting for an answer, she surrendered most of her control.


It was harder than she expected, and she felt wild emotions and thoughts rip through her humanity, willing it to tear to shreds. She fought back just enough to stay sane, changing into her animal form. Her tail lashing anxiously, she bounded off. It was horrible, trying to find a city like this, but after what felt like forever, she managed.

It was a tiny town, actually, but she could see the distinct white building of a hospital, a red cross over the wide double-doors. She ran back to Zane, stumbling as she did. Pain flared in her leg, and she let out a yowl of pain. She felt herself slipping....

Shay felt feverish and cold at the same time as she wrestled for control over her turbulent mind. No...I will not become feral. Her eyes flashed their normal color as she stared desperately at Zane. Something sparked within her, and she was immediatly human again.

A raw sob burst out of Shay unexpectedly, and tears spilled out of her blue eyes.

"Everything!" Shay sobbed, not caring that she sounded like an absolute baby. "Z-Zane, it was s-so hard to get back c-control. I almost lost m-myself!" Her tears flowed even harder at this, and she pressed her trembling body into his embrace, glad of the comfort and familiarity he gave.

"Why can't we be normal?" Shay asked, closing her red-tinged eyes. Her tears subsiding somewhat, she wiped away the lingering salty drops.

Shay managed a watery smile, then pulled away, standing up. "We need to go find a hospital," she reminded him.
