Crystal looked at the young pup. "I know you're young, but you're a good hunter, you show'd that already." she said. "If you promise to do everything your father says, then you can go and listen to him, ok?"
Luke nodded. "I promise mommy." he said, smiling. "I will do whatever papa tells me to do."

Cobalt smiled and said seriously but calmly "Do you know the number one rule of hunting, Luke? Every hunter knows this rule. This rule separates monsters from the rest of us. Do you know it?"

"Always show the prey respect and ensure the fastest kill possible?" asked Luke, it was an important rule of the hunt, at least to him. "And pay respect after its killed for its sacrifice."

Cobalt smiled and said "That's a good rule but not all hunters use it. There is one rule more important then that one. Do you know what it is?"

Luke thought about it. "Always protect your fellow hunters?"

Cobalt chuckled and shook his head. He looked at Luke and said fatherly "The number one rule is never kill a mother or father who have babies or the babies themselves. That is why hunters take a very long time searching for food when they could be back in a matter of minutes. It is a sin against nature to kill a mother or father that have babies or little kids or the kids and babies themselves but monsters kill them anyways. That is the only TRUE difference between us and monsters.........Remember that."

"Oh, I considered that being respectful to them." said Luke. "I'd never do something like that papa."

Cobalt smiled and said "It is respectful to them but it's also the number one rule of hunting." He patted Luke's head gently and said fatherly "Good." He looked at Jacob and asked "Are you up?"
Jacob yawned lowly and looked at Tina lovingly. He said to himself "I am so lucky to have you, my own personal moon." He licked her lovingly and nuzzled her neck. He looked at Cobalt and said "I am up."

Tina blushed. "Yeah, we're up." she said, smiling. "How was...is that a rattlesnake?" she asked, seeing it curled in the courner. "They freak me out."

Jacob smiled and looked at the rattler. He said "Babe, it won't hurt you. It won't bother you if you don't bother it. It's just your instincts telling you that it is a predator and there is danger if you get to close to it. It's a nice ability that everything has and I mean everything." He nuzzled her and said "So, what are we planning on doing now?"

"We're going to get the Windigo snakebit!" said Luke, excited about the plan and chasing his tail cutely.

Jacob raised an eyebrow and asked curiously "How are we going to do that?"

Jacob sighed and looked at Cobalt. He asked "Mind answering the question, Cobalt?"
Cobalt smiled and shook his head. He said "I don't mind answering your question, Jacob. We are going to kill a dear and bring it in the cave. After that, we are going to put it over the snake and make sure not to flatten it and kill it while dragging the deer over it."
Jacob nodded his head and said while getting up "Well,.....we should go do that now."

"I'll stay here with Crystal." said Tina. "The males can get the deer."
