"Steele, who I think I told you about right?" asked Aniu. "If I didn't, he's a Malmute who at one time was the highest ranking sled dog in Nome but my son, Nome's outcast, saved the sled team he abandoned and Nome in the process. That broke Steele's web of lies and thus switched their positions completely, Balto becoming the hero and Steele the dispised outcast."

OOC: In all honesty, since it wasn't stated what he was in any of the films, I prefer to think him as a malmute or maybe a husky/malmute cross like he is in this timeline, both of which have irony as malmutes are commonly bred with wolves and he'd still be a hybrid in the other case. The reason for thinking he's malmute is he's too big to be just a husky.
"Because, there's good in everyone." said Aniu. "Steele just needed the right motivation." she said. "The chance to get back what he lost by changing or stay bad and get revenge." she said. "Along the way he faced his inner demons and went through what he put Balto through."

"In the end he did." said Aniu. "And I changed him, he's back to were he was but this time he earned it."

"Well he doesn't anymore." said Aniu. "I don't know why he did originally."

"Might be." said Aniu. "I did raise him a little but then I died so maybe that caused it."

"Well he's my son-in-law." said Aniu. "His real mother died so when I mated with his father, I took over raising him until my death." she said. "I think maybe the reason and he probably doesn't remember this is I didn't see him as much as Balto so maybe subconsciously he thinks Balto was my favorite."
OOC: What did you think of me making Balto and Steele half brothers in the original?

"That's unforcent." said Aniu. "But at least you gained compassion for them."
