Shane sighed.
"Adult stuff, trust me, you dont wanna know." He huffed, before smiling.

"Oh.." Nickel tilted his head, but accepted the answer. "If you say so." he said and nipped at his ear.

"Hey Nickie, am i your dad?" He asked, flicking his ear back and forth to create a sort of challenge.

Nickel actually paused."..You want what i think?...or what my brothers think?"

"What you think." Shane confirmed with a small smile.

"Well..i know you're not my real dad...Landon and Lark said so one night when they thought we were asleep." Nickel said. "I was the only one that heard though." then the pups smiled and continued to nip at his ear. "But as far as i care..You're my dad."

Shane smiled, and chuckled.
"No, i'm not your, techinical dad, but you'll always be my son." He said warmly, rolling slightly so Nickel slid into the water. He smirked, nosing the pup up again.

"I'll always call you dad." he said, getting up and licking Shane's nose. "No matter what."

Shane smiled, licked nickel's nose as well.
"Love ya' kiddo."

"I love you too dad." he smiled, wagging his tail furiously.

Shane chuckled, "Call me dad or Shane, either one." He said with a wink. "I should probably get'cha back to your mom..She'll be worried." Shane said, standing and shaking out the water from his fur.

"I like dad. It fits better." Nickel said, hopping up. He climbed back onto the bank and shook out his fur. "Mom's probably still yellin at Tony."

"Yeah well i'll shut 'er up." Shane joked, picking up Nickel and setting him on his back. "Hold on buddy-ro." He chimed, trotting back towards the den.

Nickel laughed and hung onto to Shane.
When they got back, Rochelle had the other three pups in the den, Tony laying all mopey-like in the front as she looked around. She perked when she saw Shane had Nickel.
"There you are!" she exclaimed.

"He came to find me and we hung out a while." Shane explained, not looking at Tony. Shane let Nickel slide down his back and off of his tail, before nosing him over to the den.
