Sydney whimpered a bit, she knew how stubborn Sin was. Once he put his mind to something, there was no talking him out of it. The voices grew louder, and Sydney watched as Sin broke off into a run. He had vanished down the dark hall as soon as the other officers rounded the corner. They looked at the two girls standing there, their eyes accusing.

"What are you two doing back here?!" One accused, her eyes like ice.

Sydney frowned even more, a blush stretching across her face. She looked at her feet like a 5-year-old would and sighed.

"We were looking for a spare bathroom, the one in the lobby was occupied and I needed to pee really bad..." She said sheepishly, "Sorry... we knew it was wrong to not ask permission to go back here, but we thought with everyone gone we didn't have to ask.." She admitted.

The officers blinked at her, then looked at Katie to see if it was true.

Sin has exited through the back, he'd had to cover Maddy's mouth to keep her from screaming. Now that the girl had come to her senses a bit, she was horrified. Sin stalked through the parking lot, it was deserted, but he tried to look discreet. Maddy wiggled in his arms, she wanted to be put down right away.

"Calm down Maddy, you're fine. I've got you." Sin said, wondering if she was upset because she was afraid he'd drop her. Sin never would, so he thought it was silly that she'd think that.

Maddy bit his hand. Feeling the sharp pain, Sin drew back his hand and set her down. He grunted and rubbed his palm.

"What the h*ll was that for?!" He growled quietly.

Maddy's hands shook, she ran a pale hand through her short hair and paced a bit. "You don't get it, Sin! Do you know how suspicious it looks if you just break me out?! Do you know how much trouble I'm in! And now you're in trouble too! Sin, why don't you ever use your god d*** brain! For once! Think about the consequences! I would've gotten out on police brutality! We had a plan! A story! But you don't think! Now they'll know that I killed him in cold blood! Do you want that for me!?" Her voice failed her and she turned her back to him.

He had the nerve to laugh.

Katie smiled politely and nodded. "Mhm, we're on vacation. We have alot more driving ahead of us. Just be lucky her boyfriend isn't in here. He has the bladder of a squirrel." She jumped when a voice from the room they'd just left sounded.

"Guys- The kid is gone!" An officer yelped, hurrying out of the room and looking at the others. Katie tried to look oblivious to what they where talking about, but she couldn't help glance at Sydney.

Sydney swallowed hard when they realized that Maddy was no longer in the questioning room. She stared blankly at the police, and tried her best to play it cool. She caught Katie's glance out of the corner of her eye and her mouth formed an even more prominent frown. She exhaled and looked at the condescending officers.

"Kid?" She first asked, "I don't follow... But I hope you find him!" Sydney said, acting as if she didn't know anything about Maddy's disappearance at all. She grabbed Katie's wrist gently and began to back away. "We'd better be on our way if we want to make it to Yosemite on time." Sydney said sweetly. She turned away from the officers and began walking back to the lobby. They needed to find Sin and Maddy.

Maddy stood scowling at Sin, who was laughing joyously. She grimaced at him, her eyes burning from both exhaust and tears. Her face was hard though, her lip never quivered.

"Oh, c'mon Maddy, you honestly think I don't realize how much trouble you're in? How much trouble we're both in? I've been in sh*t like this before. Worse than I've told you, worse then I'll ever let you know. I know how to get you out of this, and you think I can't! Do you honestly think that they'll let you out on police brutality? Do you 100% honestly think that they'll consider giving you a second chance? They don't know you! You killed someone, Maddy."

At this, the young girl covered her ears, "No.." She whimpered.

Sin grabbed her wrists, yanking her hands off of her ears, "Yes, Maddy. You killed someone, he's dead. And you know what? You can make up all the pretty little stories and excuses you'd like, that's still not gonna make a judge forget the fact that you. Killed. Another. Person." He growled in a low voice.

Maddy tried to pry herself free, but failed. Her breathing was ragged and she inhaled heavily. "But I didn't mean too! I was protecting you! I wasn't thinking..." She said hysterically.

Sin brought the broken girl into a tight hug, those hugs that are rare. The hugs that seemed to block out the world, a warm hug, a safe hug. Sin then whispered, "I know, sweetie. But they don't. No one except for me and Sydney can understand that. And I'm not sure Sydney would even understand. That's why I broke ya' out of there. I know that I can help you, I know I can." He brushed back her short hair lovingly and kissed the top of her head, like a brother would. Showing so much affection was rare when it came to Sin, but he did care about Maddy.

Katie stomped along next to Sydney, Jumping a little when she heard a police oficer barking orders. She could see a few officers taking those orders and beginning to search the front parking lot.

Katie began cursing. Cursing Marty-just because it was her first instinct. Then cursing Sin for not listening, cursing Scotty just incase she forgot someone. Finally she cursed herself, for even making the stop at that motel.

As they exited the building, Sydney noticed how angry and upset Katie was. She chewed on her lip for a while, then sighed.

"Katie, it's okay. We'll work things out." Sydney said, trying to make the redhead feel better.

Sin head the sounds of boots on pavement and froze. He clutched Maddy's wrist tightly and pulled her deeper into the back parking lot. Behind the lot was a chain fence, and beyond that was a stretched of grass, which lead into the suburbs. He drgged her over to the fence, helping her over the top, then lifting himself over. He knew that the officers would see them if they walked out into the open field, but he didn't know where else to go.

"Are we gonna get caught?" Maddy asked with a sniffle, seeing this look of pain and worry on Sin's face.

"Course' not, we just need to be really quiet." He assured her, though he was almost certain they'd get caught. The sounds of footsteps grew louder and Maddy suppressed a yelp.

Out of panic the girl bolted into the clearing, running as fast as her legs would carry her. Sin cursed and ran after her, the police would round the corner and see them soon.

"What if we can't find them? Or what if the police find them first?!" Katie wined, "What if Maddy tries to "save" Sin again?!" the red head fell deathly silent when she heard an officers voice "I saw someone running over that way!" the voice yelled, followed by some yells of reply-and more bootsteps.

Sydney was about the answer when she heard yelling, her heart sank. What if the police found Sin and Maddy before they could? What would happened to her two best friends? She shivered and tried to shrug it off. But she couldn't, she was afraid of what would happen.

"Should we go get Scotty and Marty? Have them help us?" She suggested.

Sin cursed when he heard the yelling, but they'd entered the suburbs, just hardly covering their tracks. Sin went to walk, but Maddy was still going. He frowned, unsure if he should follow the terrfied teenager. Maybe she'd stop running after a moment, and come back to Sin.

But she didn't, Maddy had no intention of stopping, non at all. She didn't remember Sin, she only thought about getting away. And by the time Sin realized that she wasn't going to stop, Maddy was too far ahead for him too catch. He cursed and began to run after her, only in hopes to keep up with her. Because if he lost her, Sin knew she wouldn't make it.

"I dunno where they are." Katie whimpered.

Scotty and Marty had found their own place to hide. They'd driven the hummer to the end of an allyway and had come up to stand at the opposite end.

Scotty was smarter than he was given credit for. He was best to think under pressure. "Quiet people have the loudest minds." Marty would always tell him, Scotty was a good example of that.

The black haired teen stared out at the concrete before him, his light green eyes calculateing. When he heard footsteps his eyes moved slightly and he watched a shadow stretch across the ground. A few police officers had run past, but none of them had seen the boy.

Before the shadow's owner had appeared, Scotty knew who it was. Maddy. Scotty reached out, and grabbed the youth abruptly, before passing her off to Marty, who covered her mouth and held her nose-a sure way to silence her.

Marty had quickly hauled the scared teen into the back of the hummer, making sure she stayed down and out of sight. "Shhh! Hey, you're okay munchkin! Hush-" he cut off when three, loud, lonesome, pops sounded. Gunshots. But not real ones, just ones fired for distraction. Not even minutes after those noises, Scotty appeared, and ducked into the back with them, slamming the cargo gate and closeing them all in while Scotty tossed a gun up into the glove box. His cheeks red and his bangs & forehead wet with sweat from a sprint around the block.

Marty still covered Maddy's mouth, not really thinking.

Maddy writhed in the backseat, her eyes rolling around, looking for a way out. She was still trapped, wild, primordial, the girl was unthinking and afraid. She whimpered, trying to bite into Marty's hand, but her teeth couldn't find his soft flesh. Sweat rolled down her back and clung to the sides of her head, her black hair sticking to her temples. After a few more moments of kicking she had a loose grip on Marty's arm, trying to weakly pry it off. She could only think that she wasn't moving away, and if she wasn't moving away, she'd get caught.

Sin rounded the corner, he'd lost Maddy, and in her place was a black hummer. Sin growled, assuming the worse, he knew that all of the perverts and criminals wouldn't pass up a kid like Maddy running wildly, partially blind from fear. His arms grew stiff and he approached the hummer, his fists balled. He looked in the tinted windows, unable to see, then heard the clamoring of footsteps and looked over to see a swarm of police officers, their tazers and guns locked on him. After a moment of fear and disbelief he began running, abandoning the hummer and disappearing into a separate ally way.

"Get down!" Scotty ordered when he could see a few figures running around the hummer. A few minutes later, he sat up and sighed with releif. Everything outside-at least around the SUV-had gotten calm. He looked at Marty and Maddy before snapping "Marty, let 'er go, you're making her flip out even more!"

Marty blinked and pulled his hand away from the girl's mouth "Oh, sorry." He murrmured sheepishly.

Scotty rolled his eyes and helped Maddy sit up: gently holding her arms incase she tried running. "Maddy, calm down, your okay now. They're gone: you understand? They're gone now, we lost them, they're not after you..." Scotty's soft, accented voice tried to assure her, he sounded like a parent: soothing their child after they scraped their knee on the sidewalk. He just wanted to girl to calm down.

Maddy sobbed, her breaths coming out in violent heaves, her stomach tight. She snaked her arms around her stomach, hunching her shoulders and pushing her knees to her chest. The girl listened to Scotty's voice, trying to blur the tears out of her vision. Gooseflesh consumed her arms, her ears were hot. She looked at the ground and shivered violently, but managed to steady her breathing to a slow pant. She thought about where she was, in a car, with her two good friends. She thought about where the danger was, outside, miles away. She thought about anything except the future and her immediate situation. Other than the occasional shiver that worked it way through her chest, she'd managed to calm herself. It was only then that she realized that she'd left Sin. Her pupils shrank back and she felt herself began to fall back into the panic that she'd just tried so hard to overcome.

"I left Sin, they're gonna get him..." She mumbled, feeling her breath pick up again.

Sin was fine, though. He sat 5 miles down, on top of a 2 story house, looking down on the suburbs. The houses were flat and square, close together and all concrete. It was an odd neighborhood, but perfect for eluding police officers. He's lost them a while back, after ducking into a trashcan, they'd ran right past him. Sin looked down like a hawk, his eyes on the SUV that hid in the shadows, he planned on tracking it, still unsure of who was inside. He has a haunch Maddy was in there though, and the thought of the un-moving SUV scared him.

"We'll go looking for him!" Marty announced scrabbling up toward the front seat, "We'll find the girls too! Hope Katie don't mind me driving her car!" Mart snickered mischeviously. He Started the Suv and peeled out onto the road driving hurridly down the road. "Okay you two.." he called back to Maddy and Scotty "...we're gunna circle around the police station a few times, maybe we'll see them. You two need to stay down out of sight." He stated.

Scotty nodded and looked to see if Maddy understood.

Maddy didn't like the idea, she didn't want to go near the police station, but she nodded. As long as they could pick up Sydney,
Katie, and Sin, she'd be okay.

Sin hopped down from the roof when he saw the car began to move, he began running in its direction, trying to track it.

Scotty dropped down out of sight as Marty suddenly drove a little faster, slamming the black head into some suitcases "ouch!"

"Sorry.." Marty apologized.

Katie walked down the sidewalk with Syd, looking defeated "Do you think the boys are okay?" She asked softly.
