Not really, used to.

It's not really a secret anymore, I mean I don't shout about it but most of my freinds and family know that I adore animated movies and anime, the people around me have just accepted its who I am and what I like... pretending to be something your not is worse than just being honest about your intrests.
My freinds think im crazy, maybe its normal for a 14 yr old girl .. actually in my case its tomboy ... to be intrested in other things.
Its made worse by my other intrests XD Wait for it ... Wrestling, Heavy Metal/Hard Rock, Animation, Historical Epics and everything else that my freinds arent into ...
They made me watch the notebook last week at an all girls sleepover ... depressing -_- ... 10 minutes in and I was playing prince of persia on my psp XD
Although when people walk into my room and see my entire shelf dedicated to animation they're like ... ok, thats strange!
Not to mention my army of film posters
My parents dont really think anything of it, I guess they would rather me buy the swan princess than adding to my collection of roman era/general historical epics, action movies and fantasy ... rather a U rated movie than a 15 is their attitude
And the memerobilia doesnt bother them
Im not going to lie its sometimes hard to stick out from the crowd, not everyones nice about it :/ But I think im one of the lucky ones, but it also helps to ignore what other people think of you and just go with what you like, worked for me

I bought 3 original Balto production storyboards that I am having framed and put up on the wall. (excuse the glare, they are still in shrink wrap until I get them matted/framed).

I will probably by some of the smaller framed posters and put up on the wall. I am just as happy to put a Balto picture upon my wall as I am to put a (demilled, functioning ones go in locked hard cases/safes) rifle upon my wall. I love huskies, I love dogsledding, Balto has them both.
So, no, I am not ashamed to be a Balto fan. Why would I be?

Mine surely does. Many of my relatives know as well. I even used to draw Balto stuff in public (but find it is easier to do at home now). And when I get those pictures up on the wall, anyone who ever comes in my room will.

Yea. I still got some Balto cutouts from like, 5th grade or so on my wall.

It's not necessarily a secret, but I don't go shouting my love of the movies/characters wherever I go. The people I feel should know--my family and close friends--that I like them know; I've never told those who don't need to know. Simple as that.

Never said I told people who did not ask. I do not volunteer the information, but I do not hide it if it is requested.

Of course you wouldn't. But are you afraid to tell anyone if the time is convenient? Do you just lie and say, 'No, i don't like him!'?

I was being halfsarcastic, but yes, if there is an opportunity or someone mentions the movies that I don't mind if they know, then I will tell them.

Same here but I'd leave it to close friends and family members/relatives. I know I used to be real embarassed by it and would hide my collection away. (I still watch the movies privately when I'm alone).

That's what I meant by my original post: Only my family and close friends know, and those that ask me about it.

It used to be, but not any longer. I've become much more confident nowadays and I don't really care what others think. I'll love Balto forever and I shall continue to be a fan for a long time.
